Title: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: Madame Mim on 2007 August 13, 00:06:00 I'm working on a particular scenario for my game and I'd like one teen to run away. Is it only possible through lowering their relationships with family members or is there some cheat that I can force them to run away on command with?

Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: Madame Mim on 2007 August 13, 01:52:14 Thanks. I was hoping for an in-game cheat, but at least now I know where I got the idea that it was possible - I must have read it last time I was trolling through Squinge's mods.
Hmm - I think I'll try relationship lowering first and see. I'd prefer not to have to add a new mod to my game unless I have to. Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: aubreylaraine on 2007 August 13, 03:05:28 squinge's hacks have been removed. a kind soul who has it will have post it.

I installed it before OfB, but it should not require upgrade. Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: buddha pest on 2007 August 13, 05:32:43 What are the specifications to get a teen to run away on their own anyway? Relationships in the negatives with everyone in the house? Does this now include pets?
I've never had a teen run away, ever. Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: Madame Mim on 2007 August 13, 06:00:50 Thanks anyway but lowering the relationship ratings with the two other householders (yes - it had to be negatives. I don't know about pets - they didn't have any) worked so I don't need the mod.

Relationships in the negatives with everyone in the house? Does this now include pets? Negative relationships with all adults in the house...I believe the exact point is -20/-20. Children, fellow teens, toddlers, and babies do not count.I've never had a teen run away, ever. Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: Sammy on 2007 August 14, 04:47:32 I've never had a teen run away either, so please pardon my ignorance. When they run away, where do they go? Do they just disappear or are they moved to the family bin?
Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? Post by: Marhis on 2007 August 14, 05:05:38 No, they don't go anywhere in particular: they still appear in the family icons, with a little symbol (just like that of when they sneak out). They're invisible and off-world. They continue to age, though, and will return home about 2 days before their due date (to grow up in adults), or they can be returned by cops (you have to phone emergency->police and report the run away, like with pets).

When they run away, where do they go? Do they just disappear or are they moved to the family bin? 'Tis one of the age-old questions, like "Where do townies come from?", "Why do aliens only violate the menfolk?" and "How come Jefty is still five?"Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? I understand they come back when it's time to grow up to adult? What about uni? Can they go, or do they end up skipping that and move straight into an unfulfilling life as a "4 want" un-upgraded adult? Title: Re: Is it possible to command a teen to 'run away'? If (and it's a big if) their grades haven't dropped below a C, they can still go to Uni. Depends on how high their grades were before they ran away and how long they were gone, since they take a grade hit each day they miss school. |
