Title: Life Stories houses
Post by: kuronue on 2007 July 20, 21:16:27
If I were to build a house using Life Stories (so I can do it on the other computer while I've got this one doing things), and I've got LS converted walls and floors in my game, could I easily package it up and import it into TS2?

I think its impossible to Pack a House in Live Stories. And no the converted have not the same data as the LS Walls and Floors so they are lost in TS2.

I know its impossible.  I tried it yesterday.

Have you possibly tried moving lots from LifeStories Lot Catalog in TS2?  I moved lots from Lifestories to Pets Stories and they were fine, except missing objects and wallpaper/floors that the two games dont share.  Im testing Pet Stories to TS2 next.

The only way to move houses from LS to TS2 (or vice-versa) is to pluck them directly from the LotCatalog folder. So, once you build the house, you need to pull it into the bin, and then it will appear in the LotCatalog folder for you to copy over to TS2 (you can change the file name if you already have a lot with that file name in TS2).

Walls and floors probably won't transfer over, since I doubt whomever converted the walls and floors bothered to keep the internal numbers the same. So you will have blank walls and floors and will have to redecorate. Objects that are in both games will be in place, while others will vanish.

yeesh, so LS isn't a good tool for designing houses, since I'd still have to move them to TS2 and edit.

unless I were to design houses FOR life stories... *ponders*
