Title: Hey JM - Nightlife testing - rly srsly
Post by: witch on 2007 July 05, 05:15:14
I've given up on my son for now. I've set up their broadband but he has to go under the house & the batch to put a cable out to the place where he and his partner live. It's been raining and he doesn't want to get muddy. Wuss. I was going to do your Nightlife testing via remote control hopefully, but as they haven't got the Internet yet that's not possible.

So anyway, the house painting has also now finished and I'm back in my office with all the PCs set up. I have a spare AMD Athlon 3000 running an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600XT with 1Gb RAM that I could set Nightlife up on if you wished. Those specs should be fine up till NL although the NVIDIA drivers may have the usual problems.

I can set it up straight from the box, with or without Uni and patched or not. Let me know if that's any use for you, I've got the next four days at home.

OK. It's nopedostalkers.package that crashes the game to desktop on lot load.

I'll put the rest of the hacks back tomorrow and try out sleepclock etc etc with debug mode on.

I put sleepclocks and BUY in the Smith household. They were not configured. I gave the boy teen a cellphone with shift click and got him to call a birthday party. That was fine till the 2 guests started to arrive. The game crashed. These are the exception files, don't know if they're of use.

I am looking into a better solution to NL crashiness. Testing can be suspended now.
