I downloaded a furnished lot.

One of the effects enabled was the ability to have a potted plant AND a floor lamp on the same square, creating quite a dramatic "feel".

anyone know how to turn this cheat on?

"Move_objects on" without the quotes would enable that effect. You hit Ctrl, Shift, and C all at the same time to open up the cheat prompt.

Don't forget to turn off the cheat after using it:
moveobjects off

I rarely remember to turn off the cheat. I use it a lot, so most of the time I just keep it running.

So do I. There's also the cheat 'boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false' (minus the quote-marks) that allows you to, say, place a ceiling lamp above the middle of a two-tile table -- something that could not ordinarily be done. For that one, you must remember to turn it off by typing the same code, but substituting the word 'true' for the word 'false.' Otherwise, you will not be able to place doors, windows, etc.

It's the second one on the page, I think it rocks.

You can also use boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation true/false to turn items round 45 degrees. Nice effect but you need to check the sim can still use the item.

Will try that 45 degree angle one to. Man its amazing how many cheats there are. I though the 3 pages I downloaded was alot... Clearly not :-)

Try typing 'Help' in debug mode.
