Title: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: chintznibbles on 2005 October 01, 09:23:12 Don't get me wrong, I'm as big a fan of the melted-cheesy-toasty as the lot of you, but what's with the big fuss about this particular sandwich lately? Can someone explain to me the Importance of Grilled Cheese?
Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Hook on 2005 October 01, 09:27:37 If you use the new ReNuYu Senso Orb to change a Sim's aspiration and the Sim isn't in at least gold aspiration, there's a chance the change of aspiration will go wrong... and you get a Grilled Cheese aspiration. All the Sim wants to do revolves around grilled cheese: eat gc, talk about gc, make gc, serve gc to another Sim, etc etc etc. The good part is, it's easy to get into platinum so you can fix your aspiration, if you want to.
The only lifetime want for a GC Sim is "Eat 200 grilled cheese sandwiches." Only sandwiches which are finished count, and you get a memory for each one. With 20 memories per page, that's 10 pages of memories with nothing but "Ate grilled cheese sandwich." While it can be done, it's a lot easier to get other lifetime wants (at least non-family ones!). Aspiration failure for a grilled cheese Sim involves a picture of a grilled cheese sandwich, sort of a Grilled Cheese Buddy. Your Sim will talk to it, hug it, try to eat it, etc. Hook Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Are they available to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Hook on 2005 October 01, 10:28:11 A Sim with grilled cheese aspiration can make grilled cheese any time of the day. Fun, huh? :)
And I tried with a vampire Sim to see how many she could finish. She can cook and eat around 10 in the 12 hours of nighttime, so 200 will take her at least 20 days. Her bladder doesn't go down as it would for a normal Sim, but her fitness bottomed out pretty quickly. At least working out on the exercise bench didn't trash her hygiene score like it normally would. One of the benes of being a vampire. Hook Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 October 01, 10:39:06 Did you try to individually cook them, or did you Serve them? If you served them, you'd get 6 at once, then just have to serially eat them....
Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Hook on 2005 October 01, 10:42:52 Served, of course. It would take way too long to cook them individually.
Usually, by the time she was done eating 5, the 6th one would have gone bad. Since there's a fear of eating a bad grilled cheese sandwich, I didn't let her do that. :) Hook Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: aussieone on 2005 October 01, 11:06:10 Ok I think I've got it.......
Stuff 'em full of artery hardening goodness before it 'smells bad' and blow the consequences........ Sounds like a perfectly normal, happy life to me........as long as you have a bourbon and coke to wash down the cholestorol sambos ;D Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Hook on 2005 October 01, 13:56:04 Medium sloppy/neat. But I suspect all GC Sims have a fear of eating a bad grilled cheese sandwich.
Since she was a vampire, she might not have gotten sick from eating bad food. But I didn't wanna test it. I did let her finish one sandwich she'd already eaten most of, just to get the sandwich count up. Hook Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Andygal on 2005 October 01, 15:16:49 sloippy sims eat much faster then neat sims. So a sloppy grilled cheese sim can finish more sandwiches in a shorter amount of time.
Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Hook on 2005 October 01, 15:45:40 According to test results I've seen, sloppy Sims don't eat faster on foods that need to be picked up, only stuff that can be shovelled off a plate or bowl, like spaghetti or cereal. Pick-up foods like hamburgers or sandwiches are eaten at the same speed by all Sims. Too bad.

Title: Re: Okay... what's with the Grilled Cheese? Post by: Ancient Sim on 2005 October 01, 23:01:00 I got a grilled-cheese when I changed someone and forgot all about them having to be green. Personally, I'd rather it happened randomly so it could also happen in higher aspirations. I actually aimed for a grilled cheese with someone in green and they didn't get it. I turned the first one back once she was gold as I wanted her to be Family. While she was cheese it was quite amusing for a while, but becomes a bit monotonous. Easy to earn the points, though. My Sim greeted Robert Broke's wife (Family) and did nothing but discuss grilled cheese with her outside the house until I got her to stop. Over and over she rolled the want to discuss it and satisfied it, then she started rolling wants to discuss it with Brittany, which got her even more points. They were well into it, never seen such enthusiasm for anything. Maybe because Mrs Broke is a Celebrity Chef, perhaps she specialises in cheese dishes.
