I don't think it's been updated to include the Gypsy type NPC, but I used it to ban that particular gypsy that visited my lot. Maybe that will help.

I was thinking along those lines as well - the quieter-doorbell hack by JMP. Can't imagine that it wouldn't work on a vamp, it works for everyone else in the house. I have two of them, and on their second visit, I befriended them to my sims. I didn't see them anymore...:).
