Title: Seasons crashing on opening family bin
Post by: Venusy on 2007 March 24, 20:17:49
I know the Sims2Exception logs are essentially useless, but it's all I've got. The problem is repeatable (although the second time crashed the entire system, so I've only got one log).

Have you done anything clever, like putting an overstuffed family in the bin?

I don't think so, the only one of my families that exceeds EA family limits is inside the House of Fallen Trees (which could be another problem in itself). The only other overstuffed families SimPE lists are Vijayakar (I think this is the NPC pool) Garth, Wood (townie pools), Smith, Smith, and Smith (stray pet pools), which aren't in the family bin.

I've been getting crashes in build/buy mode in dorms lately, the CTD type that just comes out of the blue.  Something is a bit fishy about that, since both times I'd done a whole lot of rebuilding and placing of objects, there was an out of memory error once too, though with 2gb DDR memory, and 1gb video memory plus 25gig free hdd space, you'd think that wouldn't be a problem.  Three crashes yesterday I think.   Is there a memory leak in Seasons?  Must remember to save more often :(

Well, the problem only affects one neighbourhood, so the easiest solution would appear to be nuke it. Which I'm about to do now. That being said, thread locked.
