Title: Sim inside greenhouse affected by fire outside
Post by: Kyna on 2007 March 23, 01:17:17
Just had a sim inside a greenhouse affected by a fire outside.  Lightning hit one of the fruit trees near the greenhouse, and my sim's hygiene started dropping rapidly in response to it.

I don't mind the queue stomping for the fire in this instance.  My house was once struck by lightning and it was the loudest sound I have ever heard, so I can understand the sim would stop what he was doing and notice the lightning-struck tree on fire just a few squares away.  I just don't get that his hygiene should be dropping because of a fire outside the greenhouse when he's inside the greenhouse.

Was amused that the tree took no damage and that its health stayed at "thriving".  Around 12 hours later it produced some mouthwatering fruit.

I think the game treats greenhouse walls like fences rather than like actual walls, which is silly since they made the room dividers which are fences treated like walls.

Yes I noticed that with the little dividers, after all that time spent building a kitchen suitable for my dorms and the stupid practically non-existent room dividers stop the cook from collecting the dirty dishes.  Still, it is useful for separating toddler cribs in the same room without making it look too silly.  Hmm, I wonder if a rug can be placed over them to hide them too.
