Title: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: Marvelleaux on 2007 March 12, 15:09:51 This sucks, as I was happily ignoring this creature and pleased to not have to bathe it.
I deleted the dog using boolProp (oops) and he came back the next time I entered the neighborhood after visiting a different one. Anyone else? Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: ZiggyDoodle on 2007 March 12, 22:30:00 I have a German Shepard that will spend the entire night in the water wiggler; at first I thought he was stuck, then realized he loves to play in it.
A personality quirk, I guess, as my other dogs use it but aren't as obsessed. Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: Marhis on 2007 March 13, 01:59:04 Deleting a dog (or any other sim) in game is perfectly safe, and the best thing to do if they got stuck somewhere; they always came back, because that delete simply resets them, nothing more. To physically delete a sim from the game is a way more complex issue.
Anyway your problem seemed to be the fact that it was half-buried and somehow not working as intended. After deletion, does it reappeared normal, or in the same odd appereance/behavior? Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: LordHellscream on 2007 March 13, 02:12:33 i think it has something to do with echo_community_sleep.package
its conflicting with pets you should look for a updated version on google Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: Nec on 2007 March 13, 03:44:39 Echo's community lot sleeping has not been compatible since Pets came out, and that is the cause of the sinking and bed errors. Jfade has a great version that is Pets and Seasons compatible HERE (http://www.djssims.com/index.php?skip=20&category=10)
Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: ZiggyDoodle on 2007 March 14, 03:19:22 Quote i think it has something to do with echo_community_sleep.package No, it doesn't. My shepherd did the melt-into-the-floor trick tonight, after a session with the water wiggler. I have no such hack, so am guessing it is associated with the wiggler. The dog will come on command, but must be instructed to eat or he will starve himself to death. Wiggler has been deleted. Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: Marvelleaux on 2007 March 14, 05:47:39 I don't have the Echo hack. I have most of MoreAwesomethanyou Directers cut installed (season's version) and that's it.
Last night my dog (same one) got stuck again and I nuked it. The message prompt said three things were burninated, including a "hello-to-greet" interaction or something of the sort. I looked around and there was a stray on the lot. So maybe this has something to do with it as well. Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: Nec on 2007 March 14, 06:25:04 I got that error today with the water wiggler, too. That really sucks that we have a new sinking pet bug. >:(
Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: ZiggyDoodle on 2007 March 14, 07:24:36 The only hacks I have right now are Twojeff's college adjuster plus and Pescado's phone hack. I've been playing in Uni primarily so I could explore EP5 without dogs, kids, old geezers, etc.
No problems between dogs and the wiggler before EP5. Will delete all existing wigglers from dog-occupied lots that I haven't yet played and see what happens. Pescado was quite grumpy about the issue and shut down a similar thread in the "you broke it" section. Caffeine deprivation? Caffeine deprivation? I didn't break it. They broke it. Jerks :) Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: ZiggyDoodle on 2007 March 15, 03:01:53 Yup, they sure did. Played the shepherd's lot tonight (I had deleted the dog last night and the wiggler). Dog was at the mailbox and had no further problems.
Haven't tried bathing him yet, though. :-\ Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 March 15, 10:35:24 Pescado was quite grumpy about the issue and shut down a similar thread in the "you broke it" section. Caffeine deprivation? The problem with the water wiggler has not been confirmed, but THAT particular sinking-into-the-floor bug has been positively idenfied as the Work Of The Non-Awesome. Furthermore, it bears stating that(http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/crapola/trashcat.jpg) Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: ZiggyDoodle on 2007 March 15, 17:59:48 Sheesh, Trashcat needs Prozac. Or a new friend.

Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: Nec on 2007 March 16, 00:03:13 Yes, definitely the work of the most undoubtedly, indisputably, non-Awesome EA. Tried it in a virgin game, not even Awesome hacks. In fact - no downloads folder at all. The bed temp controller seems to be the culprit. It errored on the chew-toy, but the chew toy alone caused no errors.
Title: Re: dog half-buried and unable to interact after play with water wiggler Post by: pioupiou on 2007 March 16, 07:07:01 I'm not really able to read a error log, but they seem pretty much the same as the one I have (stupid dogs (not all of them) error and cause a bed to reset (and the sims that are in the bed by the same occasion). I have a lot of mods and JM Pescado blamed it upon non-awesome mods. It doesn't seem to be the case if you have it in a vanilla game...
