I love the trichotillomania one. If you look closely, you'll even notice that the scalp is the wrong color for the skintone. Wow.

Ugh... and I thought the pants were eyesores. These hairstyles passed hideous about five miles back.

It's not a hairstyle so much as a sculptural representation of what your sim would look like if she were shot in the side of the head. At least that's how I think of it.

I think Maxis sims generally look ugly - I currently have one new townie with the pink knee-length old ladies' dress and the stupid sticking out pigtails - how much uglier can players make their own sims? I use it in game. It is nicely animated and the texture looks like hair, although I may be using someone else's recolor/alpha change of it.

It's not the hair makers' fault, but one amusing thing I found is that if I use Warlokk's Classic Pin-up mesh and put long hair on the sim, the long hair goes through her breast and out the other side.  That's gotta hurt! :-)

So, I was going through Body Shop in an attempt to clean up some of my custom content. While doing that, I managed to stumble upon this beauty:

Supposedly an item from Chaz Designs on TSR. I don't know if you can see it from that angle, but some of the hair cuts through the shoulder. The only other thing I can say is that the hair looks like it would function very well as an umbrella.

I downloaded the Divino hair (might be using it for an evil sim) but that pukey hair and the long bushy squirrel tail hair as well as the tranny hair above my post...

The "impaling heads" is an attempt to copy the Coneheads, characters from the original Saturday Night Live who later also had their own movie. (Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtain, and Lorraine Newman).

The Sims pic pretty much resembles the originals, except the top of the head didn't come to such a sharp point.

There is one hair of Kavar's I use for a particular sim (see avatar - spiky thing called Static Remix) but IMHO it seems that quite a few of Kavar's hairs are pretty sucky.

Yeah, Kavar's meshes tend to be all over the map, quality-wise. I like the Static-X one, and I used his Night (http://"http://www.insimenator.net/showthread.php?t=2798") mesh for the longest time, but then you have things like...that. *points up*

Ah yes, poor Schubear hair.  Sshodan was trying to recreate WK characters, but dramatically overpoofed the styles, didn't animate, left gaps, used cruddy textures, and just generally messed up a lot of stuff.

And it totally deserves extra points for the hilarious caption correction Mmmary pointed out.

In the picture, though, it looks like she has hair. It's ok as a hat/headpiece - a bit strange, but well-made and vaguely attractive if you like things like that, but without the hair it just looks like weird head-growths :S

EXACTLY.  The Final Fantasy artwork is quite attractive.  The Sim, on the other hand, simply looks like she was exposed to highly radioactive clowns!

I thought it was a torture device, with hypodermic needles and probes and stuff.

The worst thing about sshodan's "flowing" hair for men is the animation... random panels of hair flap up and down independent of the rest of the hair. It's like, physics FTL..

I know. It's such a shame that the still pictures can't do it justice. :D

(I took these pics over a week ago, planning on posting them here but I forgot all about it. I also have no idea what the hair is doing in my game since I did a complete wipe-out not too long ago and have been very picky about what goes into my DL folder after that, but I was rather amused when my sims went to this restaurant for the first time and met the waiter as seen above...)

I don't like Rose's stuff and rarely visit her site but I did so today and this hair literally made me ROFL.

That reminds me of my dead, glue-coated paintbrush, with tissue paper wrapped around it. It's not even like that creator was aiming to make something that resembled hair, surely? Why does the headband/dried-on tissue paper have crease lines on it when it's obvious that the hair is glued perfectly straight, and the headband is glued to that? What on earth is it creasing on? x_x

Why does the headband start after his head starts to flatten out? How is it staying straight like that? Wouldn't that be horribly uncomfortable and probably impossible?

Why do the highlights go all the way around and not reach the top? Is someone running around him with a low-power torch and aiming it at his hair? So where on earth are the crease shadows coming from, again?! (Also, why are they doing that?) It seems like a lot of effort was taken to make the ends look nice and natural, so why not the rest of the hair? And are there really two little cut-out pieces just above his eyes? Why? :'(

That "flowing" hair reminds me of one (possibly peggy) hair I had that was also badly animated, and really, really violently flicked about, even when the sim wasn't really moving. :S

I love the way the headband matches the background, almost making it look like the hair is levitating above the guy's head.

That was my first impression when I looked at the picture too!  I thought, "Now THAT is a serious gap."  It would make peggy's meshes look high-quality.

The hair isn't the worse I saw, but this has got to be the ugliest non maxis sims I ever saw.  I wonder if it's her self-sim

I'm persistently reminded of some sort of kitchen implement.  Can't put my finger on it though.  A mushroom brush ? hmmm.  One of those things you use to clean woks?

I believe I have a mesh in my game of a potted plant that looks just like that hair. It's in a square pot and it's supposed to be some sort of decorative grass or something...

Maybe that's where she cloned the hair from?  Maybe if you remove the mesh the sims will have a flower pot on his head.  Probably would be better looking.

Those colour swatches made me think of floor coverings.  Or some type of benchtop surface.  It would seem that as hairdressers Divino Sims make great interior decorators.

This one gets my vote.  Nothing else comes close!

I put both the Divino hairs in my game, and put them on townies... it gives them character. Or, at least, I can see them coming from a mile away when I'm zoomed out really far...  ;D

There are a couple of positive things I can say about it, such as that (a) it is well made / seems to behave well in the game, and (b) it looks the same in the game as it does in the screenshots, which is a rare thing.

I really don't have that much to say against this hair. I think the style is freaky, but it's not eye-gougingly terrible like some of the other stuff in this thread. Freaky/odd hairstyles don't bother me if they are well-made... wooden wigs or huge neck gaps is what makes hair "bad" to me.

I don't think I'd find Divino's meshes so amusing if he didn't take them so seriously. But, you know, that brains-being-blown-out-the-side-of-the-head hairstyle is Gaultier. Stand back, this is Sims haute couture. Fashion this irony free could only come from a heterosexual male, and it's tragic.

That, and all the models remind me of chicks you see in your local dive bar who make you afraid to go to the bathroom alone in case they'll come in and beat you up for looking at their man.

Yay! Bangel made it! Great choice, btw! I may have to agree with you. The flap thing is just too weird. This was a really tough job as far as judging, there are so many hideous hairs presented, but I will say that the "flap hair" was one of the worst. But to me, not THE worst.  :D



Anime hair aside, I have to go with Tawanda.The last pic looks like a preschooler was given free rein with his brush and paint set. :P The trichotillomania hair was a close second. So basically, I vote for Tawanda's choices with SaraMK coming in second for the best "wooden" hair and Atom Bunny in third for the "flap" hair. I guess the flap hair looked more like a wrong hair for wrong sized head than anything else. It is truly horrific though. :-X
