Title: Dog collars eaten by mirror Post by: witch on 2007 February 01, 23:32:00 Don't know if this is a new thing or an old thing or a me thing, but the change appearance process to put a collar on a dog just ate four collars in one fell swoop. I saw all four new collars in the first dog's options, the second dog had none. I have patched my game.

Little dogs cannot wear big dog collars, and vice versa. Title: Re: Dog collars eaten by mirror Post by: jsalemi on 2007 February 02, 09:13:03 Little dogs cannot wear big dog collars, and vice versa. Yea, that gets me all the time -- I send a sim to the store to buy a collar, and forget that it defaults to big dog size. Sim gets home, calls the small dog to the mirror, no collar appears. Sim Master goes "D'oh!", slaps self on forehead, and sends the sim back to the store for the right size. :) Title: Re: Dog collars eaten by mirror Post by: witch on 2007 February 02, 09:21:29 ah, yup. :-[
I was going to let this thread die a lonely pauper's death. I realised, by the time I trooped the entire sim family, including pets, back to the pet shop, that all three of the big dogs could still get collars and yes, it was the small dog that couldn't. Both collar sales stands at the pet shop have large collars though, so I'll have to suss out where to find a small dog collar. How ridiculous considering the collars expand to fit huge ruff necks, why wouldn't Maxis have made one-size-fits-all for collars for cats and dogs too. What a lot of make-work for nothing. Same place. :) Look at the top right of the dialog box that pops up when you go to buy a collar, and there's three icons -- a big dog, a small dog, and a cat. Just click on the small dog and you'll see the small collars. Title: Re: Dog collars eaten by mirror Post by: witch on 2007 February 02, 10:04:30 AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Thank you. It's that bloody Porthos causing all this trouble. I didn't want a messy sim bin, I know, I know, so I moved the animals into a lot with a family. I made Cyd a townie and was left with Porthos and the Critturs. So then Sarah pops out 3 puppies. I sent for the animal adoption sim and got rid of Porthos and two pups, except I forgot Porthos was at work and he missed the roundup. I thought he'd leave when he got home from work, but no go. Now I think he's chosen one of my sims as a master, once they do that I don't adopt or sell them, so I'm stuck trying to buy a different size collar for a pixel image. ::) Title: Re: Dog collars eaten by mirror Post by: rohina on 2007 February 02, 11:57:10 There's a buyable collar stand at MTS2 - saves all that trooping to the pet store.

Heh -- I have that, too, and it completely slipped my mind. It's by Christianlov, Witch. Title: Re: Dog collars eaten by mirror Post by: witch on 2007 February 03, 16:00:12 Yeah, got it last night, along with the wonderful clothes rack that finally lets me change townies' clothes. I patched my game and the sods still wouldn't wear what I told them with 'suggest outfit'. I cleaned up all the cosmetic mistakes at the same time as I gave them some nice clothes to wear. ESPECIALLY Goopy.
Thanks for the info, people. :) Now I can collar that damned Porthos.
