Title: what is the file for the sim's self menu?
Post by: linolino on 2007 January 31, 11:46:03
can anyone help please?
I'd like some general direction on how to do these:

1) I want to know how can i inclue an option in that pie menu that shows up when the active sim is clicked on. (the menu with the 'primp' and 'do yoga' options). Wich file i have to mod to add an option? I'd like to add an option just like the Macrostatics does

2) I also want to include an option in the menu that pops up when you click another sim. (the menu with 'call over' option). Again, something just like the "Socialize..." option that macrostatics have

3) Does anyone knows where can i find the BHAVs for the 'Meditate' and 'Call Over' interactions? I want to look how they were made.

All that stuff is probably in the main 'objects.package' file.  You don't want to change that.  Mods like macrotastics and insim (and any that add menu options) carry the additional menu options within their own files.

That is beyond my knowledge. :)  You should probably check "The Bowels of Trogdor" forum here, which is where the super-modders talk about these arcane things.  And there's also a ton of tutorials on how to do that kind of stuff over on MTS2.

You can't mod the sim pie menu directly. Well, technically you can of course, but this is a Very, Very Bad Thing. Don't ever do it. You'll have to use a plug-in social to insert your interaction into the sim menu. See any of JM's or my mods that use the sim menu for examples. I think there is also a tutorial or two around somewhere on them.

Take a look at ebruere's tutorial (http://modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=111124&highlight=ebruere) on MTS2.

Dizzy had a similar tutorial, in fact he had a lot of great tutorials over at VariouSimmers, but that site seems to be totally dead now.  It's a shame too.  I would have liked to have kept those tuts as a reference.  Maybe Dizzy might be kind enough and repost them here in the Bowels of Trogdor?

Here is a link to ebruere's "Let's Undress" example mod (http://sexysims2.com/showthread.php?t=110856&highlight=ebruere).  FYI: It was originally on MTS2, but it has been moved to their adult affiliate, Sexy Sims 2.

If you are totally lost, then I would start with reading some of the more basic tuts over at MTS2.  Echo and AdidasSG2 have several great tutorials, for both elementary and "advanced" levels. :)
