Title: Messed up neighborhood thumbnail/preview Post by: kytyngurl on 2007 January 28, 16:27:10 Soon after backing up my newest 'hood in Sim PE, I noticed a strange error: The neighborhood preview/thumbnail (the one you see when you are asked to select a neighborhood to play) looks strange. Specifically, it now looks like a mostly-white grid.
I can still play in it just fine, it looks perfectly normal once you are in. Still, I'd like to get the thumbnail to look normal again. How can I do this? Title: Re: Messed up neighborhood thumbnail/preview Post by: miros on 2007 January 28, 17:02:09 Take a screen shot of the most important part of your hood. Paste it into an art program and save it as PNG, named N004_Neighborhood.png (use correct neighborhood number, not 004). Copy or move that file to the My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Neighborhoods\N004 file (use correct neighborhood number, not 004).

I'll try it again a few times, but with different images. This is really quite annoying! Title: Re: Messed up neighborhood thumbnail/preview Post by: witch on 2007 January 28, 20:42:34 It's the pixel size of the image that matters as far as I know, google the right size and resize your image. I can't remember what it's supposed to be but I had trouble getting my pic to show up initially.
Title: Re: Messed up neighborhood thumbnail/preview Post by: Marhis on 2007 January 29, 06:35:15 It should be 400x300 pixels at resolution 100 (not 72 or 96, which is usually the default Photoshop and other graphic programs suggests)
Title: Re: Messed up neighborhood thumbnail/preview Post by: SaraMK on 2007 January 30, 01:55:11 You're sure you changed it to a PNG? When you take snapshots, they're JPG, so that would be an easy mistake to make.
