Title: This has to be some sort of record
Post by: Ayslhyn on 2007 January 03, 22:43:01
The computer always was prone to give me twins. It now exceeds probability by doing it THREE times in sucession in the same family. No cheats (cheesecake) no hacks no nothing but six mewling brats in very close proximity.
GAHHHH

Same family means it's not unexpected. Some sims have a token in their inventory indicating they have a pronounced propensity for twin production, presumably from double-barrel ovulation. If your sim has this token, there is a greatly elevated chance of twins.

Oh wonderful. Remind me not to breed from this family.

I did this on purpose to hurry up the "have ten children" want. That house had four sets. The mother was in grilled cheese aspiration so she wouldn't care that she was a baby factory, and I had "her" name them all after cheese. There was little Gouda, twins Taleggio and Mozzarella, and others. It would have been hell without Christianlov's nanny-slave.  ;D

It IS hell on wheels. Luckily the first set are teens so I'm turfing them to college.

JM what do you mean by a "token"?
As a mac-user I don't suppose I can see or alter this?.

Man I gotta share MY Sim's family tree.  Three sets of twins in one generation!  Fortunately in different households...

Never have had it give me 3 or even 2 in a row!  Geez  :-\

For some godforsaken reason the mac ALWAYS bucked the twin odds. I've had it since the vanilla game. I have never known why.
This is the worst of the twin stuff. JM says tokens.
Well JM is no idiot. Maybe both these sims had a twin token

The token viewer in current SimPE is kinda borked, so I wouldn't count on it for much of anything. It's pretty useless and sucky. It used to work better, but Ye Olde SimPE no longer functions.

You KNOW I cannot use PE

You can tweak the pregnancy in debug mode, or with *cough*Insimenator*cough*, then if they are twins abort pregnancy and re-impregnate the mother with singleton.

Or you can use TwoJeffs' mod that allows you to choose whether you'll have single or multiple births or even just leave it set at random.

That is certainly one reason why we think we need a non-SimPE.

SimPE...is like trying to drive with chopsticks. And I have used a lot of user-created software. It's not worth the time it takes to open it, IMO.
