Title: Start up in windowed mode Post by: pamysue on 2006 December 10, 03:29:35 I just got a new 22" widescreen monitor, but I'm afraid it will stretch my Sims. How do I start up in windowed mode and what screen resolution is the best to use?
Title: Re: Start up in windowed mode Post by: Ness on 2006 December 10, 03:35:35 You need to add a " -w" to the end of the target of the shortcut on your desktop. It goes outside the quotes, and must have a space before the -
As for what resolution to use, I'd stick with the game's default rather than switching to something else, but somebody may have other information on that, Title: Re: Start up in windowed mode Post by: pamysue on 2006 December 10, 03:57:18 Thanks, ness. The only cheat I could find had the resolution with it and I couldn't get that to take. Just the -w is working great. :)
Title: Re: Start up in windowed mode Post by: Magicmoon on 2006 December 10, 07:19:49 I like to run my test version of the Sims in windowed mode. However, I can't seem to find a way to adjust the resolution using the shortcut. It keeps running at 800x600.
This is what I have in the target window of the shortcut: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Pets\TSBin\Sims2EP4.exe" -w -r 1024x768 What am I doing wrong? Title: Re: Start up in windowed mode Post by: Ness on 2006 December 10, 09:14:23 no idea. Mine runs in 1024x768, but nothing is mentioned in the target - that's the default for my computer.
Title: Re: Start up in windowed mode Post by: Venusy on 2006 December 10, 10:14:13 I think the problem might be the space between "-r" and "1024", but I'm not sure.

"D:\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Pets\TSBin\Sims2EP4.exe" -w -r1152x864 That's what I use. |
