Title: Atomic Bar Stools and Counters
Post by: Digital Femme on 2006 December 10, 01:11:46
Is anyone else having a problem with sims not being able to sit at atomic barstools placed next to atomic counters?

This set up worked fine when I was using a different barstool/counter combo.

I've just checked in my game...  they can sit on the stool unless the counter and stool are against the wall.

Thanks! I deleted a door that seemed to be blocking access to one of the atomic stools in the diner. I'm still having a problem with the rest of them though.

Can anyone figure out what I've done wrong here?

It looks like you've failed to install noroutefail, for one thing.

God, that's wonderful. I had no idea that hack existed. Well, I'm off to put that in right now.

It won't make them sit on the stools - it will just stop them waving and screaming about it.

I had the same issue, my kitchen island was three counters long, not attached to any wall. I used the same stools, my sims would sit on the left hand end stool but not the middle one. Never saw a sim try for the right hand end.

I replaced with another sort of stool and my sims could sit on all three seats.

I tested with only two counters, not three...  I'll have another go...

Neat looking little restaurant. I don't see the hostess, though. Is she outside? I really like those windows. They're pretty funky.

Well, after testing this out, I've discovered that sims can't use an atomic stool if there is another stool to the right and to the left of it. How silly is that?

You can get one that looks just like it. I took the Factory Living Grocery Store at MTS2 and just redecorated it.

I am similarly disturbed by the apparent absence of Hammer and Sickle. Where is it?

Hidden, prob. I always hide it.  ::)

In Soviet Russia, you do not hide hammer and sickle, hammer and sickle hides YOU!

Same.  :D It's so large, so red...

I hate the sickle too. Are you ever going to give us a more sensible mesh alternative, Pescado?

Probably a stupid place to ask, but that won't stop me:
Why was the model for the Lot Debugger changed after all, from the standard yellow box to that black thing?

So you could tell the difference between it and the macrotastics launcher.

I hate to be a pedant, but I just can't help myself - the model wasn't changed, the box was just retextured.

Ha ha, that was fast Ness, I barely had time to click 'reply'.

I don't mind the boxes looking different to each other, though it didn't matter before either, I always leave them in a box or junkroom, or the attic, so they look like real old boxes anyway.

Well, while it may not be linking it to a new mesh: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=6749.new#new .

Nice idea...  but I have become kinda attached to the big ugly red thing when I run a business.  I've also become quite attached to my weird boxes, the clothing tool and the college adjustor.  I have them all on every lot - not hidden!  Somewhere where I can have quick access to each of them.  To me they are like things that are on the user interface, just movable...

Witch, was a complete fluke!  I'd pretty much only stumbled out of bed when that post was made...  the joys of the last two days of the year with no students!  I don't have to be at work so early!

Hehehehe... point taken.  :D

About the lot debugger and macrotastic launcher; I've always wished they were stackable, so you could put one on top of the other, like the fancy flashing cubes in Nightlife.
They just look so stackable!

Stackable would be nice... then you could get them into small decorative towers and such.  And put TwoJeff's ACR controller on top!

Well, at least you can change the model of the ACR controller -- I make it the same potted plant in every house in a particular hood so it's disguised yet still easily findable. (And of course there's the 'zoom to adjuster' option anyway, that makes sure it doesn't get lost. :) )

I love that 3 bedroom victorian with the little tower on the third floor... that's the "box room," since it's not quite big enough for baby furniture...

Yes, it would be very nice if Pescado would alllow the distribution of remeshed debuggers and whatnot....sadly, he does not.

MATY does not have a redistribution policy. You can do whatever you want with it. However, we don't support remeshed debuggers, and given that the debugger is often updated, maintaining that would be a pain in the neck for you. Also, it is unwise to make the debugger too invisible, because if you can't find it because it's NOT conspicuous, then you will forget it exists! The entire point of the existing skin is that it is simultaneously conspicuous and easily buried in an "illegal" area of the gameboard.

Cool thanks, every so often I get asked to remesh your stuff, I keep saying no cause you told me NO when I asked you, several times...

Well I already keep them updated, for my own game :P

...easily buried in an "illegal" area of the gameboard.

I've been wondering how to do that. Ancient gave me some of her lots and the debugger was on the opposite side of the road.

You're probably right - he did say 'buried'.
