Title: The boycot worked! Post by: gali on 2005 September 20, 23:51:37 I am a member of EB games, and receive each month a newsletter.
This month the "best sellesrs", according EB games are: Ultima: The Eighth Age (PC) Civilization IV (PC) EverQuest: Darkhollow (PC) F.E.A.R. Director's Ed. DVD (PC) City of Villains (PC) EQII: Desert of Flames (PC) Black & White 2 (PC) Ninja Gaiden: Black (XBX) We Love Katamari (PS2) Warhammer 40K: Winter (PC) Age of Empires III (PC) Pokémon XD (GCN) X-Men Legends II (XBX) Nintendogs: Dachshund (DS) MK: Shaolin Monks (XBX) Sims 2: Nightlife (PC) Madden NFL 06 (PSP) Fable: The Lost Chapters (PC) MK: Shaolin Monks (PS2) X-Men Legends II (PS2) A Sim game in 16th place??? It's a disaster...:). Perhaps this will teach them to increase the quality of their games...:) Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: Ivy on 2005 September 21, 00:00:44 Well, one could hope anyway! Glad to see it's doing poorly!
I still will not buy NL until both Uni and NL are fixed. And I still think it's ridiculous they are holding back the Uni patch until they patch NL as well... >:( Ivy Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 September 21, 00:01:40 Well, considering it's been out for only a few days, that doesn't prove much. It'll get up there.
Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: gali on 2005 September 21, 00:08:25 No, JMP - I have all Sims games.
When EB issued the "best sellers" list - the Sims EPs have always been in 1st to 4th place; I buy all my games at EB, and check each month the "new releases" and the "best sellers". It's the first time I see a Sim game/EP in such a low place. Edit: Congrats! your site passed the 1000 members! Seems we all like the Vampire...:) Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: Ruann on 2005 September 21, 00:25:28 The game was officially released a week ago... most of those are pre-order titles... Um. Sorry, not buying it. Cuz, ya know, it's also the ONLY SIMS GAME ON THERE and it's been available for pre-order for a few months.
So unless they're only counting games that shipped (judging by that list it's impossible) then I'd say it's doing pretty good. Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: LK on 2005 September 21, 00:32:09 Darn. When you said that "the boycott worked," I thought you meant that they were releasing the patch...
Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: KellyQ on 2005 September 21, 00:38:31 Darn. When you said that "the boycott worked," I thought you meant that they were releasing the patch... Same here. Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: gali on 2005 September 21, 00:39:40 LOL...I wish that too, but I would name the thread in Capital Letters: PATCH AT LAST!!!
Perhaps the profit lose will make them issue the patch soon...:). I admit, I pre-orderred NL 5 months ago, and as the payment was already done, I couldn't cancel the order. But I still didn't install it - I still play Uni only. Waiting for update of all the hacks I need and use. Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: DuckSpeak on 2005 September 21, 00:53:48 When the patch comes out it'll be like the BBS for a while. ;D
And then the BBS will become the epitomal exemplification of quitessentiall HELL. Title: Re: The boycot worked! So that list really isn't what was sold. Besides, there is no way an EQ expansion outsold a sims EP. EQ1 had 500lk players at its peak, and including Station players is estimated to have around 300k now. They cannot touch TS2 sales. The only MMO that can is WoW. Title: Re: The boycot worked! Post by: rhodaloo on 2005 September 21, 03:41:35 If we hold off and not buy Nightlife until after October that could lower this quarter's profit. I'm still waiting for the patchs before I buy Nightlife.
