Title: Looking for some castles Post by: rohina on 2006 December 03, 20:28:38 I'm doing a historical medievally thing (may or may not do a story), and I need some good looking and functional castles. Anyone got any good links?
Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: Gwill on 2006 December 03, 22:04:02 Castles seem to either look good from the outside, or be functional.
I've not come across any that are both. Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: Firestorm on 2006 December 03, 22:17:25 http://www.webalice.it/mikebur50/index.html
It has some pretty good castles/historical lots. As with most lots, some are more functional than others. It's in some sort of foreign language but it's not too hard to navigate (loads slow, though). Hope it's what you're looking for :), I recommend the "The English Country" set on page 2, very pretty and functional. Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: Gwill on 2006 December 03, 22:28:32 Castles on hilltops look good, especially in neigbourhood view, but I can never get the camera in a good position to play those lots. I wish creators would build their houses on flat terrain and rather use a neigbourhood with hills in it.

This is exactly my problem. :P Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: jsalemi on 2006 December 04, 00:18:43 Sim Estates 2 has a bunch of castles, though I can't testify to their playablility: http://simestates2.planetthesims.gamespy.com/castles_1.htm
And I found this one at MTS2 -- I've plopped it in Blue Water Village for 'atmosphere', but I also checked it out, and it looks like it has a pretty decent and playable layout: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=203953 Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: rohina on 2006 December 04, 01:22:29 Hmmm. I don't trust simestates since I downloaded some furniture from there that borked my game, but the other one does look pretty cool. Thanks.

Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: LadyLiberty on 2006 December 04, 05:36:31 Howdy! Pleased to meet you :D
I am new to Sims2 and to participating with sites like this, though I have been observing and learning here for some months. http://ts2creations.com/dresidentiallots.htm (http://ts2creations.com/dresidentiallots.htm) This was the first castle I downloaded and I placed it in my first neighborhood, Strangetown. What a christening! It was quite playable. Much obliged to all of you for the abundance of knowledge and the delightful, sometimes darkly amusing posts. It has been a true pleasure. Best of luck to you, rohina. Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: rohina on 2006 December 04, 07:42:07 Those Chrissie ones are gorgeous, but so huge and impractical. Thanks for the links.
Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: Surelyfunke on 2006 December 04, 08:21:08 Cyclonesue at TSR made some awesome ones. If there's something you want, PM me.

Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: rhodaloo on 2006 December 04, 22:48:16 functional castle on 2x2
http://www.simposieum.net/content/view/78/4/ (http://www.simposieum.net/content/view/78/4/) Of the three castles I've played, this one works the best. The other two were just as lovely but so large it would take forever for a sim to make it to the bathroom, let alone make to work on time. The terrain is fairly smooth as well. Do you think I've pimped it enough now? Title: Re: Looking for some castles Post by: Orikes on 2006 December 05, 01:36:48 I love this guy's lots. For the most part, they're pretty playable and look nice. http://thesims2.ea.com/mysimpage/uploads.php?user_id=158371&nstart=1&asset_type=lot
One has a bit of a castle look about it and might be what you're looking for. The interior is a little small, but it's a neat place. http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/lot_detail.php?asset_id=402648&asset_type=lot&user_id=158371 |
