Title: Sagesims? Post by: Andygal on 2006 November 26, 19:58:03 Ok, does anybody know what happened to Sagesims? And if it's gone, does anybody have the files from there and want to send it to me?
My brother deleted my My Docs/EA games folder and I lost all my downloads. I don't wanna play elders with maxis crappy clothing. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Karen on 2006 November 26, 20:22:23 I'm not surprised that the site appears to be shut down. It hadn't been updated in quite a while. It's a shame, because it was one of the few places to find decent-looking elder clothing.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: rhodaloo on 2006 November 26, 21:13:08 I'm contacting andygal to see what I can do to help.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: miros on 2006 November 27, 02:42:35 Meanwhile, I'd like to hear Andygal's plans to get even with her brother...
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Orikes on 2006 November 27, 04:38:08 I wouldn't mind some decent looking elder clothing too, if it's being offered about. :}
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: idtaminger on 2006 November 27, 05:19:44 All About Style has great elder clothes. Very stylish. And there's a very recent entry on MTS2 w/ 3 really fabulous elder outfits. So you could check those out for the time being.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: rhodaloo on 2006 November 27, 05:22:21 I wouldn't mind some decent looking elder clothing too, if it's being offered about. :} Contact me, if you want.Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: miros on 2006 November 27, 09:51:37 Actually, you can open up any YA/A outfit with SimPE and add <checks notes> 0x10 to the age catagory. YA/A/Elder is 0x58; YA/Elder is 0x50; A/Elder is 0x18.
They'll still slouch, but they won't have the pot belly or thunder thighs. Just be careful if you do this to a top or bottom; combining a converted YA/A top with an original E bottom (or vice versa) will have odd results. Hairfish has done quite a few of her outfits at Mermaid's Cove. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Strangel on 2006 November 27, 17:44:26 I have quite a bit but I do miss the site.. In particular, I miss being able to send people there for the list of reasons elders are GOOD. lol
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: AllenABQ on 2006 December 01, 14:55:51 There is a tutorial by Motoki with added comments by others here:
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,1281.0.html (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,1281.0.html) It shows how to use SimPE to make adult clothing available for elders to use. I personally prefer this to standard elder clothing which (aside from a few creators with imagination) seems to act like a symbiotic entity sucking the life out the elders who are wearing them. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: miros on 2006 December 01, 15:40:38 You just need to make sure you pair YA/A/E tops with YA/A/E pants, otherwise there's a nasty gap.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Strangel on 2006 December 01, 22:19:31 Actually, I most miss one of her hairstyles, the Butterfly Curls. I always seem to do unspeakable things to my downloads folder just at the moment that Gigge's site disappears from the internet. And if I remember correctly, there was also a set of lipstick and a couple of skins... But if anyone has the Butterfly Curls somewhere in his/her Downloads folder and could send them my way, me and a legion of fashionable girl Sims would be most obliged. Jeri I've got them! -jumps around- One minute while I zip em up. Edit: Butterflycurls by Gigge (http://rapidshare.com/files/5656317/ButterflyCurls-Gigge.rar.html) Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Kayanna on 2007 March 19, 20:51:09 I'm seeking Sagesims clothing too. I got a wonderfully appropriate warning about Necromancy and dead threads. A fitting topic for elder clothes.
Seriously though if anyone can help with gigge clothes I'd be very grateful. Elders were almost normal with those outfits. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: miros on 2007 March 20, 01:53:02 Hairfish has YA/A/E clothes on Mermaid's Cove as well.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Strangel on 2007 March 20, 03:20:17 I'll look around my files and see how many say gigge, figure out which ones are clothes. lol
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: twooflower on 2007 March 20, 11:59:25 I can't resist jumping in here to say how bad I miss Sagesims as well. At one time I had a lot of their elder clothing, but lost all my downloads around Christmas. I was so disappointed when I looked for the site again and it was gone. If anyone has these that they would be willing to share, I would also be very grateful. :-*
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Aelia on 2007 March 20, 12:17:20 If anyone has a load of Gigge's old stuff, I'm sure these guys would be interested.
http://sims2graveyard.com/ Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: rhodaloo on 2007 March 20, 12:22:10 Sorry, I don't have mine anymore...had to reinstall and forgot to back up. :'(
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Mirablu on 2007 March 21, 01:05:24 I have a considerable amount of Gigge's old stuff, but it's on a currently-misplaced CD.
I'll look for it, and see about sending its contents to the folks at Sims2Graveyard. For those interested in the "ten reasons to love your elders" list: http://web.archive.org/web/20051220194625/www.simplyskintastic.com/love_your_elders.php Actually, you can still browse much of the site on the wayback machine. However, nothing downloads, and several pictures are broken. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Strangel on 2007 March 21, 14:04:49 Mirablu, thanks for that link. I originally noticed SageSims was gone when I was looking for that particular page to send to a friend who asked what the point was of having elders in your game.
A search of THIS SPOT (http://www.spiffysims.com/modules.php?name=Downloads) gives at least some Gigge stuffs. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Lelani on 2007 March 23, 02:13:34 I have a bunch of Gigge clothing for anyone who's interested. If memory serves me correctly, not all of the files were titled Gigge, if true, then I have a bunch of those too. They're all in the same file folder and I more than likely wouldn't have put them they weren't from the site. Just drop me a line.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Ndainye on 2007 March 23, 08:44:43 I'd love to have some of the sagesims stuff my elders have been lacking since it's been gone.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: witch on 2007 March 23, 20:44:01 Here's all the Gigge content I had as of April
Now I've put this up on my own homepage, I have a 30MB limit per day, so if someone has a large filesharing page, or knows a site that may be interested in uploading it, please feel free to do so. I'll probably leave this up on my page for a week or so. Or I could put it in the google filesharing area if anyone wants? Gigge's stuff from witch's PC in April '06 29.2MB (http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~witch3/) Edit wrong year . Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: Ndainye on 2007 March 24, 09:32:25 Thank you Witch! I really appreciate you taking the time to post this.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: witch on 2007 March 24, 10:13:14 No worries. :) I'm sorry Gigge's gone, I liked her stuff.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: snowyrat on 2007 March 24, 10:15:27 Also thanks alot from my part, Witch. I love to play the elders too, and think they deserve much better than the crappy original outfits. As if people would lose completely their taste the same day they turn from 25 to 65 (as in the game :P).
Fortunately I was able to fit in your today's bandwidth limit. It was nice to see the file coming from the exactly opposite side of the globe... I love your beautiful country! :) Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: JadeEliott on 2007 March 24, 19:03:03 Thank you very much, Witch!
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: witch on 2007 March 24, 19:37:05 You're ALL most welcome. BTW I don't think the downloads are limited on my homepage, I maybe mislead you all there. I'm allowed to HAVE 30MB on the site maximum. I don't know whether that would stop anyone downloading it, I don't know if there is a limit that way. :-/
ETA: Cheers for the nice comment about New Zealand Snowyrat. ;D I love the global community of the sims, I've made friends in England, the States, Germany and even with someone on an island in the Mediterranean. Great stuff. Edit again; couldn't upload to GSpace, can't be faffed fiddling with 3 smaller files, you're stuck with my homepage unless someone comes to the rescue. Title: Re: Sagesims? Great stuff. Would it be proper at this point to ask you to provide us, your Northern hemisphere friends, with some good genuine Southern (not to say Down Under) hair meshes, with the long hair hanging upwards? ;DSorry, I couldn't resist :D, but I hope sincerely you wouldn't be offended. In fact, I have a big framed Reversed World Map, bought during the trip to New Zealand, hanging in my hall - as a way to teach my children some critical thinking. All the friends who visit me enjoy it very much - it's not so common here. New Zealand is probably the most beautiful country I've ever visited, and the people were really incredibly nice there. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: witch on 2007 March 25, 11:00:11 Thank you on behalf of all New Zealand! ;D
It's not just the hair, did you know our water runs down the plugholes in the opposite way? Whereabouts in NZ did you visit? I'm about a third of the way down the North Island, the Bay of Plenty. It is very lovely, though we're not so green as we would have you think. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: J. M. Must be the Alzheimer's kicking in. Old age is GRAND! Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 March 25, 17:43:28 More like you managed to slip through the double-posting protection.
Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: JadeEliott on 2007 March 25, 18:38:44 What's double posting protection? A kick in the head if you post in the same thread within five minutes of each post?
Or pehaps the customized beating of your choice? Laughing and pointing? Whatever it is, I am sure is quite evil and unpleasant, knowing you. *considers posting this twice just to find out* Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2007 March 25, 18:43:39 Basically SMF balks if you try to post the same thing twice, the usual cause of which tends to be lag.

Maybe I should keep these visions to myself. :-[ Title: Re: Sagesims? Do you have any doubts that this wasn't the first thing we checked as soon as we arrived to the Hotel? ;D In the sink, with an excuse that one has to wash well the hands after a long trip? Being ashamed to admit to each other, that we didn't know if this is true or a myth... ;D ;D ;DQuote Whereabouts in NZ did you visit? I'm about a third of the way down the North Island, the Bay of Plenty. It is very lovely, though we're not so green as we would have you think. Oh my, perhaps I bought a bottle of water from you? :) Or, I've just played too much OFB...And no, please, don't shatter my fairy tale. You *are* green, green, green... What's a reversed world map? One where left is right and up is down? Or is it just a regular world map you're hanging upside down? It's something you can find quite often in Australia and NZ. And I like it because it helps to see, that my perspective is not always the only and definitely right perspective.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reversed_map (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reversed_map) It is already printed this way, so the names and texts are readable, unlike a regular, "Northern" map hung upside down. Title: Re: Sagesims? Post by: witch on 2007 March 25, 21:02:23 And no, please, don't shatter my fairy tale. You *are* green, green, green... Oh no we are not, not, not. Farmers want a cow-fart subsidy to pay their carbon tax - which we haven't even introduced yet, holding the process up about six years - govt reports have discovered mistakes in their calculations which show "New Zealand's emissions have grown relentlessly (http://www.thelistener.co.nz/issue/3489/features/8462/heat_treatment.html) and are now 22% above the Kyoto target of a return to 1990 levels." Also; "The politics have moved beyond that for a trading nation whose emissions per person rank sixth-highest in the developed world." (My bold). Plus we have Giardia - "Giardia is a water-borne parasite that causes diarrhoea. To avoid contracting it, it is best not to drink water from lakes, ponds or rivers without first boiling, chemically treating or filtering it." (http://www.tourism.net.nz/new-zealand/about-new-zealand/health-safety.html) Too many trampers and tourists shitting too close to the water has meant nearly all open streams and rivers are now unsafe to drink. Not to mention the pig and cow effluent that farmers keep adding. Not to mention that we still use some pesticides the rest of the world banned years ago... So, lucky you bought the bottle of water then, ay? Sorry to burst your bubble. |
