Title: Quicktime is the devil
Post by: kutto on 2006 November 19, 16:29:50
Death to Apple!

I don't want Quicktime to run in my browser. I don't want it to play anything! I told it not to, but it is a relentless force. If I even press the "Thanks!" button, it starts its long-ass loading time, moves on to a new site, and then waits for me to press play just to hear the baaa. Make it go away!

Well, other than completely uninstalling Quicktime, I think the solution is to fix your file associations.  Go into another media player (Real or Windows Media), and use its file association settings to make it the default for everything.  That should solve the problem.

I did the file association already. I want to uninstall it(hell, I didn't want to install it), but I don't know what kind of disruptions it could cause with my browser, my media, and Itunes.

Hmm. A restart seemed to fix the problem. Thread dismissed.
