Title: No autonomous playing with strays?
Post by: staroverthebay on 2006 November 19, 15:22:01
I get so tired of my Sims now dropping everything to go play "toss in the air" with stray cats or play fetch with stray dogs, if I've told them to do something like study for a promotion or whatever. Or even if I'm not concentrating on a particular sim, I don't want him running out to play fetch with a dog he doesn't know. Dammit, I don't want to turn Free Will off, but this autonomous greeting of strays is annoying, especially since I don't want my SIMS to mess with them, but I want the strays around for my Sims' pets to be friends with or fight with as they see fit.

Is there a hack that stops a Sim from autonomously going to play with a stray? While I find it amusing that the cats puke after being tossed in the air, I've never had a real cat enjoy that behavior, and I get tired of constantly canceling the "Toss in Air" / "Play Fetch" actions.

If TJ updated the Visitor controller, you can ban pets from your lot.

No Pet Obsession in the V2 testing grounds will also stop autonomous stray molesting.

I don't want to ban the stray pets alltogether, I just don't want my controllable Sims autonomously playing with pets that aren't theirs.

Ooh, I might have to give that one a try. Thanks for the tip! :D
