It's where sims are saved that you create in Body Shop that you can use in Create-A-Sim.  Prior to Nightlife, you'd have to put skin files here too for the game to see them, but now you can put all that stuff in Downloads.  It's been a while since then for me, so I can't remember what files had to go where.  If you have NL or any EP since, you can put all that in Downloads.  But Saved Sims still is where all the Body Shop sims you create are saved.  If you don't want to save any of them, you can delete them, but if you delete the folder, it will probably just get created again next time you run BodyShop.

This is correct - so that includes any skins you make in Bodyshop as well as sims.  If you are a skinner, you can't work without this folder.

And Rainbow, you could always put skins in Downloads right from the beginning - we only put skins in Saved Sims before NL because we couldn't sub-folder them then and so it was a convenient place to keep them separate from all other downloads.

I use Saved Sims as a sort of sorting station - I put clothes I want to test out in there and also sometimes objects.  The game will not read skins or sims files in SUB-FOLDERS in that location so I store sims files in there in sub-folders of sims I want to keep but I don't want the game to load up everytime I play.  I do a similar thing with skin project files which are only partially completed (when I'm making meshes).  The game will read any other sort of file in there whether they're in sub-folders or not so it's also a good place to put objects and/or hacks you want to test if you want to keep the files separate.

Thanks, maxon.  It's been about a year since I installed NL, so I couldn't exactly remember what the situation was.  Now I remember that I put some skins into Saved Sims when I learned we could do this because my Downloads folder was getting really crowded.

No, I think they mean that the Saved Sims folder has Saved Sims in it. I'm not sure, though because my Saved Sims folder doesn't have any spaces so it reads "SavedSims" Maybe Saline is talking about a different folder.

You're right, I don't have a "Saved Sims" folder, just a "SavedSims" folder.  :o

Title: "Saved Sims" Folder.

Oh so sorry. I surely am an asinine airhead. It's the "savedsims" folder (without the quotes, mind you). Not ""Saved Sims"" (not a real folder; therefore, it can have all the quotes it wants).

Thanks for the information everyone.

And here I thought that was the folder for Sims who'd given their little Sim hearts to Jesus.
