Title: Pets go CRASH!
Post by: vecki on 2006 November 14, 02:01:50
I dunno what's going on - WAH.  This only started after I installed some hacks (1 Squinge any clothes as maternity, 1 Awesome engagement want fix, and the no censor blur - yes, I'm the last person on the planet to decide my sims have had enough privacy) and clothing and such on the weekend.  So of course I removed the hacks on the off chance something was conflicting, only for it still to 'horsie go crash!'* on me.

I try and load the game, it gets halfway through the loading screen, Customising Canine something or other, then BOOM.  "The application has crashed.  The application will terminate now" (or something, you know the one I mean), and then, not.  I can't get back to the desktop.  But it doesn't always happen there!  If I manage to load the game and play, when I do close it down, it crashes to, erm, a black screen.

Not much info I know, lemme know what might be needed.  I'm puzzled.

*The Ewok Adventure (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087225/).  Don't hate me.  Unless you're Pescado.  Or you really really want to

Well at least you got a warning. I was filming a werewolf (nibbling) and then it stalled my game and without a warning crashed it. I finally got my werewolf and something like this happens. >:(

Crashing most likely due a bad mesh or recolor since you've already ruled out the haxors.

Yea, I've had a few meshes crash Pets, particularly clothing (and the infamous cellphone replacement thing). Made me glad I keep all my clothing and meshes in one folder -- it was easier to track down the bad ones.

I figured (hoped it wasn't :P ) it could be a clothing thing, it just strikes me as odd that it only crashes either on start up or shut down.  Wouldn't it normally be one or the other? ???

You'd think so, but no, it can do it either time. On load is the most common, but I've had it sometimes let me load but then crash on exit. Stupid game. :P

Bah.  That's what I get for looking for consistency in a bloody computer program ;)
