Title: Questions about notownieregen and nostrayrespawn
Post by: fennel_remington on 2006 November 06, 21:50:02
I am just wondering if no townie regen and no stray respawn prevent the game from generating strays and townies when you start a new neighbourhood or if the game will still generate these characters the first time but than not again once you get rid of them.

Thanx!

It'll generate them the first time. No way to avoid those standard Pleasantview townies, unless you rename the N001 folder.

Not sure if anyone's found a way to stop the strays spawning yet. I'd certainly like to stop getting the Crittur and Rose-something families in every new 'hood >:(

You can just delete the pets character folder the same way you do with other game folders when you create the neigbourhood.

I completely disagree. No Townie Regen means just that. If you make a brand new custom hood, no townies will be spawned until you remove the mod.

I know, I have created several custom hoods and have never seen a townie.

I would ASSUME that is the same with no pet respawn - it keeps them from spawning in the first place on a custom hood. Maybe Pescado can confirm.

Those two are easy... you just trash can them.  It's the gazillion strays/adoptees you gotta worry about!

Never "trash can" sims. That does not actually delete them. Just do a full DAC and wipe of all SDSCs after creating.
