Title: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 October 31, 18:34:49 I've worked on this damn neighborhood all day yesterday. Today, I was about to start on the richer part of town and I set a house down...that obviously didn't have level terrain...and it made the sewage pipes burst. Is there a way to fix this or do I now have to make this the really slummy part of town?

Post by: GayJohnScarritt on 2006 October 31, 18:54:02 I set a house down...that obviously didn't have level terrain...and it made the sewage pipes burst. Is there a way to fix this or do I now have to make this the really slummy part of town? I hope i don't sound sarcastic, but have you tried putting a different house in, that you know has level terrain? I do remember doing that once in the past in a Neighborhood of mine. The first house raised the road, putting in a different house, lowered it back. Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 October 31, 19:05:33 Yes, I already tried that. I can only put a house 1 space away from that road and the water on all sides. Does anyone know about editing the neighborhood script...maybe to be able to put houses on sunken terrain?
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: miros on 2006 October 31, 19:27:52 Keep trying! Thera described the same problem over on the Hullabaloo, and this was her final comment:
Quote fixed it!!! managed to slide an ity bity lot between "gap" and the street above, which straightened it all out I guess she means put lots on the cross street... Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 October 31, 20:52:37 Thanks! I grabbed a 1x1 lot from MTS2 and inched it over little-by-little. It worked and looks good. ;D

Now I've gotta go looking for that 1x1 lot... been wanting one for ages! Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 October 31, 21:23:51 I downloaded this one...http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=200146 by nengi, but in order to be able to build your own from scratch, you need this, I think...http://www.modthesims2.com/member.php?u=32091

Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: NothingToSee on 2006 October 31, 23:39:32 Just thought I'd share this....
A while back I somehow managed to drop a lot right in the middle of a road and this was the result... (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/Atom_Bunny/Hole-Topside.jpg) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/Atom_Bunny/Hole-Underside.jpg) I managed to delete the lot I dropped there by panning right out with the camera mod so I could just click it at the bottom of that black bar. I think the hole in the road makes an interesting feature so I'm leaving it there. :P Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: miros on 2006 November 01, 00:03:14 You need little barricades and "bridge out" signs...
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 November 01, 01:48:24 Yours looks good, like it was meant to be there...mine looked like a pipe burst. I thought about making it look like a pond, but cars kept driving through it and it started annoying me.
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: NothingToSee on 2006 November 01, 10:33:26 Cars drive though this too. *goes off to take screenshot*

Post by: idtaminger on 2006 November 01, 17:54:30 How did you manage to drop a lot in the middle of a road? And does that look like a pond in lot view? Cuz that'd be cool for country houses and the like.
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 November 01, 18:58:45 What I want to know is how you dropped the road that far down?
The cars would annoy me too much to leave that pond there, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to these types of things... :-\ Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: Elven Ranger on 2006 November 01, 19:17:16 I really like that Atom_Bunny :D All you need to do is add some rocks &/or the spaceship wreck :D
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: NothingToSee on 2006 November 01, 20:59:06 How did you manage to drop a lot in the middle of a road? And does that look like a pond in lot view? Cuz that'd be cool for country houses and the like. I went to place the lot, and it moved and ended up there. Must've twitched the cursor as I clicked. (I was using a graphics tablet at the time.) And yes, it does look like a pond in lot view. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/Atom_Bunny/Iruka.jpg)(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v224/Atom_Bunny/Taxi.jpg) Yes, the taxi drove over the hole - I only managed to catch the shot as it was disintegrating though. XD What I want to know is how you dropped the road that far down? No idea, I guess it went like that as it was an illegal place to drop the lot. I haven't even tried to replicate the glitch to find out if it would happen again. I really like that Atom_Bunny :D All you need to do is add some rocks &/or the spaceship wreck :D hehe - I might just do that. Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: jsalemi on 2006 November 01, 22:30:09 Heh -- that taxi looks like one of those 'Duck tour' things that big tourist cities have. :)
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: Kyna on 2006 November 02, 07:54:09 Take a look in The War Room section of this board. There's a thread on "Neighbourhood Terrain Surgery".
By following the instructions in that topic you can replace the damaged terrain with an undamaged version of it. Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: miros on 2006 November 02, 13:25:07 If there's room, couldn't you just put a bridge over the hole?

I know they have them down around Branson, MO. And I think I've heard of them at some other touristy locations. Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: idtaminger on 2006 November 02, 18:50:53 Isn't Missouri landlocked? ??? I can't imagine what one'd be touring. The local lake?
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: miros on 2006 November 02, 18:54:13 The Mississippi runs down the east border and the Missouri forms part of the southern border. Lots of water in Missouri!
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: idtaminger on 2006 November 02, 18:55:30 Ahh. I see. :D Not so knowledgeable about the Midwest. I'm more of a coast person. Ignorance runs both ways I guess.
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: MistyBlue on 2006 November 02, 19:46:38 They have those in Wisconsin, too. I rode on one once when I was visiting Wisconsin Dells.
Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: eamethyst on 2006 November 02, 21:23:34 The Lake of the Ozarks, which is located in south, central Missouri is quite large, and a big tourist draw.

No, we have them here in D.C., and I even saw them in London when I was there on vacation last week. They've spread far and wide now. Title: Re: Is there a way to fix a piece of under water road? Post by: Ellatrue on 2006 November 03, 09:52:31 I thought the whole ducks thing was originally the Wisconsin Dells, and then it spread?
