I read the book, I even read the encyclopedia. There is still no sales option when trying to sell my pet to a sim. Not even when I started my business.  what could be the problem?

do you still have the problem if you remove all your custom content?

Not that I'm trying to make anyone sound or look stupid, but I was having the same trouble, until I found it comes under propose when you click on the sim.

Propose is to give the pet away.  Sell is to sell it.  Have you checked your log file for conflicts or any hack which modifies the sales process?

You know, I also tried that when looking for the option. That was the first thing I tried, because It made sense.
So does relationships play a part in this?

log file ? Is that at the start up page?

That's in My Documents\ea games\the sims 2\logs  The file name is CustomContentObjects.txt.

My bad.  It should be My Documents\ea games\The Sims 2 Pets\Logs

I have the expansion packs nested under The Sims and goofed when converting the path to what most people would use.

I haven't had pets breed yet, so it might be that puppies/kittens can't be pawned off that easily.  But I just tried this with a fresh-from-CAS sim, and they were able to sell their pet without a hitch.

To see what might be causing your errors, turn on debug mode (don't worry, it won't make your game go asplodey), enter the lot, and try to sell your pet.  If you get an error popup message, remember what it points to, as that's your probable source of headache.  If you don't, look in (assuming you used the default installation path) My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Logs.  Sort by date to find the most recent one and post to see if that's any help.  (Yeah, Miros, that's the right path.  The my documents file doesn't subfolder itself.)

As a quick heads up, because one of the following two is what usually causes problems people post here.  Awesome modders will regularly update their hacks as they find bugs or EA changes the code, and awesome modders have no control over the works of the non-awesome.  So if your problem is caused by an outdated or non-awesome mod, all the people here can tell you to do is update or delete, depending.

No, you were right the first time. It should be located at My Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Logs\CustomContentObjects.txt

Of course, if the game install was in a different language, change "The Sims 2" (and possibly "EA GAMES") to the appropriate name for your language.

Okay Very important update:

I disabled my custom content..
Yes that did it it was fixed. Before I enabled it again, I remove the problems that popped up on the  startup page.

I did not replace them I will just post them.

I have all of those installed except "MQ_Browse and buy faster" with no problems. Try removing that.

I did that, so that must be the problem. Is is safe to put my mq computer back in the game? I do not have nightlife installed
