I was cleaning out my CC and I accidentally deleted this dress: http://tehhi.com/lotr.html - the galadriel one...but now the stupid site's gone pay and I can't redownload. Does anyone happen to have this file, to maybe send to me?

idtaminger was cleaning out her custom content, and deleted this dress (http://tehhi.com/pics/galadriel_n.jpg). When she downloaded it the first time, the dress was free, but the site is now a paysite, and she does not want to pay for a subscription just to download one dress. She then requests someone here with the file to send it to her.

Don't those sleeves drive you insane? I ended up deleting anything I had with sleeves like that because they were constantly all messed up looking. I can put up with a bit for collars and the like, but for some reason those bothered me more and I was going nutsier than normal. They look very pretty when they're just standing there though.

Scroll down and you'll find dresses in the same general shape, only with far more sensible sleeves.  You can then rip out the textures on the LOTR dresses with Body Shop or SimPE and apply them to the Parsimonious mesh -- they work pretty well.  I wound up doing that with a lot of dresses when I got sick of the stiff "shovel sleeve" look.

I also deleted every dress I had with those type of sleeves.  It was like the sims had paddles for sleeves.  I'll have to look at the parimonious link. 

I'm glad I'm not the only one!  I love the medieval look, but those sleeves just don't work on a moving sim.

I wish I knew how to do that. I can't stand the paddle sleeves either and would love to change the dresses to the Parsimonious mesh. Is there any good tutorials out there for the technology impaired people like me?

Export and Import (or Build DXT if you don't want mad image corruption). That's all there is to it.

Export the image in the outfit you want. Open up the outfit that's linked to the new mesh. Choose the image that needs to be changed and right click, then choose Build DXT (shows up when you install the Nvidia DDS Utilities - link's on SimPE website I think). Commit and Save. That's it.

If you are desperately afraid of SimPE, just use Body Shop.  Start a new project with the paddle sleeve dress, then cancel before you import to game.  Then start a new project with the Parsimonious dress, open the project files for both dresses, cut and paste the image from the paddle sleeve into the Parsimonious, check to make sure everything is aligned in Body Shop, and import to game.  Then you can delete the paddle sleeve dress, and the project files from it.  No SimPE, no sweat!

Bodyshop is easier.

Thank you everyone. I'm writing down notes and will be trying this out later. I have done some stuff with SimPE, namely making changes with the plastic surgery machine genetic. I haven't tried anything with clothes yet and I really appreciate your instructions.  :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! While you're at it, can you steal obtain Wintermuteai1's cars and hacked objects from Simslice? They used to be on MTS2 for free, but he got greedy, and now they're only available from Simslice, for $6.95 per month, the fuckers!

Those were up for free about half the time, unless the latest change rule made them pay all the time.

"All Sims1 stuff is free.  All Sims2 non-featured artist stuff is free. All Sims2 featured artist stuff is pay."  Don't know if they still have the rotation on the featured artist stuff...

I finally got a chance to see some of the Donation hairs in Change Appearance last night (irritating issue with a pair of earrings that goes blue-flashy every time the lot is reopened, but works fine once Change Appearance takes them off, then puts them back on) and several of them made me wince! One has a visibly dark scalp that covers a nice portion of the forehead - NOT the hair.. another had some serious problem with the edges of the curls being about as jagged as hubby's steak knives and looking about as sharp.
But definitely.. gotta have the man-hair donate thinger. FabioHead. -giggle-

I think it depends on your graphics card.

A lot of people say that Peggy's hair looked aweful in their game, but it looks fabulous in mine. It might also have something to do with the amount of cc and what you have your display settings on. I have mine on the largest screen (can't remember what it is 1280 X ?) and have smooth edges on all the way. My cc is limited to hair and essentials.

1280 here too, I believe I have it on the highest settings.. but I do know we are going to have to buckle down and upgrade on memory & (eventually) the graphics card, till then I'm running drivers. A lot of her hairs (the free ones) look perfect in mine, it's the D-bunch I loaded that look crap on mine.

Oh, the simslice stuff has been up for a long time.  Much longer than a lot of that other stuff.

I can't stand Peggy. She never bins and none of her hair is animated making it look all stiff and plasticy fake.  >:(

Some of it is animated now. I just bin it myself when I get it. What I hate most about her site is that you have to download each thing individually and she doesn't label the hair very well.

I know, she has pages and pages for a bazillion colors of the same style. I don't need to flip through 4 pages all of the same hairstyle.

Oh well, at least she got rid of the noisy uber cutesy interface.

Tell me about it. Having to wait an hour for a page to load is not very awesome...but I haven't been to her site in months...can't say how it is now.

Peggy does animate, and bin now.  Even though she frequently bins dark brown as black.  And her anims are not awesome.  And she has made it so you can download entire hair sets now.
