It came back when she did (reappeared laying on the ground next to the car), but had stinky diapers all day. Bizarre. Sims have a tendency to get interrupted while feeding and just forgeting to put the damn baby down.
I usually catch them before they run off to work with them. She got off the school bus later that day with her homework in one hand and the baby in the other :)
