Title: What's wrong with this picture? (now with added picture)
Post by: Venusy on 2006 October 18, 19:01:25
NOTE: This is not a recent issue, it has been happening since I installed FFS. It's only starting irritating me recently.

When I start up the game using the following command line shortcut ("C:\Documents and Settings\(Username)\My Documents\asr.exe" -r "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff\TSBin\Sims2SP2.exe" -r1024x768 -f) the game runs in a resolution closer to 2048x768, i.e. half of the screen is cut off. After the game reaches the penultimate loading screen, it resets back to 1024x768. Anyone have any ideas why this happens, and how to fix it?

SECONDARY NOTE: The problem is unrelated to ASR, as this has been happening since before I started using it.

Not a clue. Probably an engine glitch. If it's just the loading screen, ignore it, who ever pays any attention to that anyway?

I don't think -r works with -f. I use fullscreen mode, but I set the mode in the game itself, not with a command line switch.

I finally found the problem:

The option "Multiple graphics card acceleration" in the manage 3D settings part of the Nvidia control panel was set to "Multiple display performance mode". Changing it to single display performance mode fixed the problem.

That being said, necromancy is bad, m'kay?
