Title: BodyShop Sims NOT showing up in Create-A-Sim
Post by: MaggieSt on 2005 September 16, 04:39:19
My life wouldn't be complete if it were not for some unexplainable problem with this game.

Suddenly, my BodyShop Sims are not showing up in Create-A-Sim.
I'm just playing University; haven't even installed Nightlife yet.

Any suggestions on how I can get my Sims to show up again?
I have used them in the past with no problem; so why are they not showing up now?

It hapeens to me too from time to time.

So I save the Downloads folder each new downloads (and delete the previous saved folder). When I see that the downloaded sims dissapeared, I copy and paste the previous saved folder, and they appear again.

Just yesterday I made a CAS student, and saw that almost all my downloaded young adults were gone. After I pasted the saved folder - they appeared again (tested to make a new CAS YA).

Same. Every batch of four or so sims I made - when populating the n'hood with custom sims - only 3 out of 4 approx would show up in CAS. I like Bodyshop better for making sims as there are more options.

Downloads folder?  Not "Saved Sims" or some such folder?

LOL, I don't know, but I don't have "saved sims" folder - I seached for it and didn't find it. Perhaps it was deleted in one of my re-installs. I keep all my downloads, including downloaded sims, in one folder (it's already 1 GB), which I copy each new round of downloads...:).

Maggie, try deleting the 'cigen.package' - found in the EA Games/The Sims 2 folder, at the bottom. The cigen. package is related to bodyshop and sometimes it gets corrupt or too large. When you restart bodyshop, the cigen.package will get recreated.

I keep all my own custom skin related content in the 'Saved Sims' folder, which is also generated by bodyshop - probably after you create a sim or other custom bodyshop content, and save it. Custom skin related content from other creators goes in my Downloads folder.
