I was using the .net URL because my work had blocked the .com address (game sites are disallowed, the nerve!).  Apparently the .com isn't currently blocked, since I'm here, but I'm worried I'll be blocked again.  I need my daily dose of MATY!

The malaysian flag is all that you see above...  it's not just the blue bit with the crescent.

Yes, it's similar to the US flag, but it's NOT the US flag!

Notice that in contrast to the American flag, the bottom stripe on the Malaysian flag is white.  The bottom stripe on the American flag is red, because there are seven red stripes and six white stripes, for a total of thirteen.  There are fourteen stripes on the Malaysian flag.  This is of course in addition to the obvious difference in the blue section with the 14-pointed star and crescent on the Malaysian flag instead of the 50 stars on the American flag.

I must have been the only one on MATY with an international flags memory game as a child.  :D

I had a flag puzzle.  Bloody hard one too; you had to match the flag with the name of the country, and all the slots looked exactly the same and with a bit of effort you could fit the wrong piece in the wrong slot.  My brother did that so much that the edges of the cardboard wore away, and after a while all the pieces were so rounded it was impossible to know if a piece was in the right slot without looking it up in the encycolpedia.

The purpose of the flag is simple: Certain parties obviously seek to have us shut down. These parties are invariably based in the "western" world, typically the US. The foreign flag, therefore, serves as a "Neener neener!" sign to taunt them about our out-of-their-reach-ness.
