Title: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: twistingsims on 2006 October 01, 20:36:52 I've done my search through this forum and a couple of others, but I can't find anything in a modded communal shower to have higher hygiene.
If anyone knows where I might find such a thing, please let me know. Thanks ;D Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: Ness on 2006 October 02, 00:12:08 Isn't the thing about communal showers that you just don't EVER feel properly clean when using one?
Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: twistingsims on 2006 October 02, 23:32:46 ;D I know, I know, that's why I need one with a higher hygiene, I love the look and size, but not clean enough, need more clean, Please!! LOL
Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: Soylent Sim on 2006 October 03, 01:12:31 I tend to agree with Ness about the reality of communal showers. But if you really want a hacked shower with a higher hygine, it might be an interesting learning experience to do it yourself in simpe. Object cloning/modifying isn't horribly hard, and if you need pointers you can either post here or PM me.
Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: gali on 2006 October 03, 01:18:57 When you are on the community lot, Shift+Ctrl+C to bring the cheat window, write - change lotzoning residential - put the highest hygiene shower from the residential Buy Mode, bring again the cheat window, and write - change lotzoning community.
Take care to put one shower only, in one bathroom. Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: jrd on 2006 October 03, 07:17:46 Does the lot zoning cheat really matter here? It was my understanding this only affected a lot on loading or saving.
I usually use the dorm build cheat to enable the catalog (there's also a hack at MTS2 which enables buying, building, and even the inventory but I don't use it atm) and then just drop a shower. Just remember these changes on unowned comm lots are not saved. Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: gali on 2006 October 03, 09:34:41 Why unsaved, Jordi?
Exit to the hood, click on the com lot, and package it to a file. Each time you want this lot, go to Packaged Lots, and install it. I do it with all my community lots. For instance, I have updated 50's coffee shop, and bowling lot, packaged them to a file, and when I enter Downtown, I buldoze the original lots, and put my updated lots instead, with the same name. In the college I have updated Gym lot, packaged to a file, named "New Gym", and I always install it instead of the old gym. Once I redecorated the "ghost house" (forget the name), packaged it to a file, and put it always in each hood I play. Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 October 03, 09:52:17 I REAAAALLY do not recommend taking any advice on anything from Gali. I'm sure Gali's neighborhood files look like a horrible mess and her game is in the process of imminent meltdown.
Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: jrd on 2006 October 03, 09:54:05 Oh, I thought you were referring to adding one while a playable is visiting...
I had edited the template houses in downtown before to cope with the Gunmod darkness, lost that copy though. Should probably re-do the edits even though I've reverted to Maxis lighting (so I can SEE my game). NL lots are unplayable without BUYs, Business controllers, and some rebuilding.... Do you know of a way to sort the lot catalog by the way? (Other than place, delete from catalog, reinsert in LC in wanted order.) Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: Gwill on 2006 October 03, 09:59:09 Isn't the thing about communal showers that you just don't EVER feel properly clean when using one? What we really need is a shower that raises hygene faster, but your sim stops showering before they are completely clean. Title: Re: Higher Hygiene for Communal Shower? Post by: jrd on 2006 October 05, 12:10:18 Primadonna... err Squinge has made this one now at the inSim forums.
