Title: Eh? what is with this? Post by: Ayslhyn on 2006 October 01, 20:22:05 I thought that you could not skill on a Community lot.
I just sent a pair of teenage sisters on a casual outing and after satisfying the usual coffee-drinking and buying things want they settled down to play chess. When the outing timer ran out I got this message in a popup: "Who can surmise that wits can be sharpened by hanging out with intellectuals? Iria picked up a point of Logic skill" What gives? I've very recently installed OFB and have never seen this before. Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: moonluck on 2006 October 01, 21:07:04 That happens when sims go on outings with sims who are high in a skill level. Sometimes they learn skills from them.
Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: Avalikia on 2006 October 01, 23:52:17 I think it can be due to personality traits. I had a couple who were both very neat but had low cleaning skills go out on a date, and at the end of it they both got a cleaning skill point.
Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: Ayslhyn on 2006 October 02, 00:06:16 But these sisters were much the same with their skills. Both Knowledge Sims. The only difference is that one was an alien.
Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: veilchen on 2006 October 02, 02:07:25 You probably checked already, but did you inadvertently download the commskilling mod, perchance. With a lot or something or other? Sorry if I'm redundant, but it can't hurt to ask, no? :D
Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: kutto on 2006 October 02, 02:12:40 I've only been able to get cleaning points. Still unsure as to how to trigger it.
Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 October 02, 02:14:57 This is a part of the core game, although I have never seen it, as any sims old enough to go on outings and dates tend to have maxed out all their skills already. It's part of the outing and date rewards thing, and isn't affected by any hack.
Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: idtaminger on 2006 October 02, 12:46:32 I've only been able to get cleaning points. Still unsure as to how to trigger it. It's triggered randomly by good outings or dates, I think. Although I, too, have only been able to get cleaning points so far. What gives? Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: Jelenedra on 2006 October 02, 15:34:08 I tend to get creativity points, as that is the first skill that gets maxed out.
Supposedly, the skill you learn depends on what skill your date is better at than you. Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: jrd on 2006 October 02, 15:36:18 That explains why I only get them in the nearly useless cleaning skill.
The only Sims with a maxed out cleaning are those whose career demands it, or the unlucky saps with the max-all-skills LTW. Title: Re: Eh? what is with this? Post by: jsalemi on 2006 October 02, 17:29:05 Maxed-out cleaning skills are handy for very neat sims, too (8 or more on the neat scale). At that level they get the 'magic bubbles' that mean they're ultra-cleaning like the maids, and things stay cleaner longer. Besides, very neat sims get fun out of running around cleaning, so who am I to spoil their fun by hiring a maid to do it for them. :)
