More Awesome Than You!

The last sim on a lot died of old age. I want to move her gravestone to the cemetary to be with her husband but I cannot enter live mode in order to click on the urn and get the' move grave' option. Anyone able to help me with this? Thanks

You might have to move in a sim to get it there. I have a sim that I use just for that and he stays in the simbin when I don't need him, you could just use a townie also.

Yeah, if you don't have one handy, just CAS up a gravedigger sim.  Move 'em in, take care of business, and move 'em back to the bin.  Best suggestion I can think of anyways.

Teleport the dead Sim onto a playable lot, make them selectable, and shift-click the lot debugger to spawn a tombstone. Then send this tombstone to your graveyard. Go back to the original lot in build mode and delete the original tombstone.

Hmm.  Yeah, that aught to work nicely as well.

But my way you get a cool gravedigger sim.  How awesome is that?!?

I suppose I have a "gravedigger" sim.  But what I actually use her more for is to "babysit" a house if a sim's parents die before or during college.

What I normally do is teleport in a townie just before the elder is due to die and move them in with Inge's Teleporter Bush.  I think it also works if you make them selectable, can't remember now as it's so long since I had to do it.  Then when the elder's dead and Grimmy has gone, I either get the townie to send the gravestone to the cemetery, or more likely I teleport in whichever family member will be housing it and stick it in their inventory.  I don't use them to temporarily move in as it mucks-up the family line-up, so it's easier to use a townie and you can't do it anyway if the family member is at Uni or they'll grow-up when you move them in.

Ooo - good idea!  May also be a good use for a spare servo.

I have a servo who's done that a few times.
I always try to have a child's parents perish either before they go to college (for the scholarship) or while they're at uni (for the inheritance), then when they graduate they can move straight into the master bedroom and start their own lives.

If my sims get hooked up in Uni (or keep a love from their teen years), I try to time it so at least one parent is still going to be alive for at least a couple of days when they get back from Uni.  Makes for a good built-in babysitter if they start a family right away. :)

Yea, if the servo is on the lot already.  Not so much if the family isn't that rich to begin with. :)
