Can any harm come from leaving the diploma behind when one graduates from university? I am asking because of some strategery for an upcoming challenge.

Humm I doubt it, anyhow, you can always get it back using the FFS debugger.

I am not certain what benefit there is from willfully abandoning the diploma object at Uni, since the object is purely decorative and doesn't actually affect anything by its presence or lack thereof. If you lose it somewhere, you can get it back with the debugger, though.

I was asking because in this new challenge you are allowed to bring three items back to the neighborhood in the inventory. Having the diploma wastes a slot and having a Sim drop out has big strategic disadvantages. I thought it was merely decorative but wanted to be sure. Whenever undertaking a challenge, the first thing is to find the loopholes.  ;)

The diploma isn't "taken back". Back implies it was ever there in the first place. The diploma is added directly to your inventory and doesn't ever appear at the Uni itself. And...what manner of challenge is this, anyway?

But if you REALLY wanna abuse "bring back 3 items"...

Take back the bottom cube of a cubestack full of snapdragons, a countertop with a dishwasher and a coffeemaker attached, and a terlet.

So, the diploma doesn't show up in inventory until you are back in the 'hood? I never really paid much attention to it. I only have the first clues to the challenge. It's being developed by Pinstar and can be played as a stand-alone or incorporated into the Legacy.

I think your suggestions may well go beyond the spirit of "3 things".  ;)

Frammit! I went back and reread it and it does say they must. I wish he'd come on with some more info!

No, they're definitely 3 things. Just look at your inventory after you do it.
