Title: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: pcgeekri on 2006 July 29, 12:20:29 Hey,
Just bought this 7 in 1 package for The Sims. Figured it would be great to run on an old laptop since it doesn't need much power to run. If my memory is correct the highest resolution for The Sims was 1024x768. And since I never played any of the EPs for The Sims, I figured, what the hec. Anyways are there still The sims mods around and anyone mind telling me where the best ones are? Starting with getting rid of that blur please. Location of sexy mods appreciated as well. Thanks so much, Pcgeekri Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: TaWanda on 2006 July 29, 14:06:07 Not exactly what you are looking for, but maybe a place to start your search? http://www.thesimsurfer.com/ARC.htm
I liked Cheap Thrills and Persimmon Grove for some of their interactive objects. Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: kacidama on 2006 July 29, 14:23:07 SimsOne (http://simsone.proboards106.com/index.cgi) is another good place as is Around the Sims (http://www.aroundthesims.com/)
For the adult themes try deviant sim (http://www.deviantsim.com/) Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: pcgeekri on 2006 July 30, 02:55:33 Thank you so much for your help. This is more than enough to get started.
Thanks again, Pcgeekri Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: Paperbladder on 2006 July 30, 03:53:59 Simslice (http://www.simslice.com/freebies/ProgramsAndPatches.htm) has some fixes for the "Gorilla" walk, community lot skilling, more visitors on community lots, object placement upgrades, and other things. I found these things vital to playing TS1, especially an increase in the visitors on community lots. There's also some objects but he's moved most of them to the pay section.

Wasn't it http://www.cheapfrills.org/ (http://www.cheapfrills.org/) ? Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: Brynne on 2006 July 30, 19:46:37 http://www.7deadlysims.com and http://www.8thdeadlysim.com/
were two of my faves. Good stuff, there! Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: ElfPuddle on 2006 July 30, 19:50:11 Why am I not surprised? ;)
Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: Brynne on 2006 July 30, 19:52:39 Hehehehehehe...they had good stuff!
Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: Paperbladder on 2006 July 30, 21:11:21 If I recall, 8th Deadly Sim was the pay 7th Deadly Sims site but I've heard there's some really good content there. Heck, many of my downloads for TS1 were from 7DS but their dressers were based on the old pre-HD style so you had to click "Change Clothes" on the thing until you got what you wanted.
I used to have a TS1 site also, but there wasn't all that much there except for an Anti-Abduction telescope and usable SS clothing. Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: TaWanda on 2006 July 30, 21:31:37 Sorry Elfpuddle, my mistake. I DO like cheap thrills though mind in the guttertype stuff

Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: Elvie on 2006 August 09, 02:07:54 I just checked Persimmon Grove, and it looks like all downloads are gone :(
Maybe another site is hosting? Even though Persimmon Grove doesn't make new content, it would be a shame for all that beautiful work to disappear. Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: mistymage on 2006 August 09, 03:12:26 I'm working on hosting Gnohmon's stuff.. just a matter of him sending it all to me, me plugging the zips into their spots on the page(s).. and getting his final ok on layout etc.
A couple of days or so.. depending on how long it takes me to upload/code and how long for so many small packages to be sent (I'm on dial up so he's taking it easy on me ;-) ~misty Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: gali on 2006 August 09, 08:06:36 You will find awesome mods here:
http://strategyplanet.com/thesims/candall/ And of course at Simsliced, but this is a pay site. Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: ElfPuddle on 2006 August 09, 19:38:39 ooh! I'd forgotten all about candall!
Thanks for the memory, gali. (and while this topic is revived, the non-hacked but extremely awesome Architectural Supplies for Sims (http://sas.planetthesims.gamespy.com/) by Bunny Wuffles is also at strategy planet) <link found> Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? Post by: Elvie on 2006 August 10, 22:25:44 You are AWESOME, ElfPuddle ;D The Arch. Supplies site has beautiful objects, many of which are based on Persimmon Grove stuff.
I just reinstalled Sims 1, and am having a lot of fun with it :) **EDIT** Wow, I'm a dummy. I thought Persimmon Grove downloads were off-line, but I was looking at the OLD Mac page ::) Persimmon Grove is still alive at www.persimmongrove.org Title: Re: Sims 1 Mods? Are they still around? You're welcome. It nearly destroyed me when Bunny Wuffles had to take down her site for a while. I couldn't play TS1 without her. The tutorials are great, and the education from reading her themes...wow! |
