Title: House building Post by: ChibyMethos on 2006 July 17, 20:19:39 Latery, all I've wanted to do is build houses, and i hate having to open the game to do it. Is there a program similar to Bodyshop that allows you to build houses and import them into the game at a later date?
I've used homecrafter, but that's just for wallpaper and anyway, the new FFS edtion doesn't want to work on my computer >:( Title: Re: House building Post by: tIIsuggas on 2006 July 17, 21:05:21 Try this
http://www.simthing.net/tutorials/tuts2test.htm Its not exactly what you are after, but it is a workaround. Title: Re: House building Post by: Jelenedra on 2006 July 17, 21:16:14 Where exactly is Homecrafter? I always get bodyshop.
Title: Re: House building Post by: ChibyMethos on 2006 July 17, 21:17:19 Interesting, but I'm not quite sure what this is for. I'd still have to open the game to build. ???
Maybe I'm slow Where exactly is Homecrafter? I always get bodyshop. Homecrafter is a program you get from the EA site that lets you recolour walls and floors. I like it, but it won't work with FFS http://thesims2.ea.com/getcoolstuff/homecrafter.php Title: Re: House building Post by: tIIsuggas on 2006 July 17, 21:25:05 I put that link in because it gives a way of opening your game pretty quickly. I possibly misunderstood your request, I thought maybe you were a bit sick of the loading times of the game, the tute I posted, speeds the loading times up.
Oh well, someone else might make use of it. Title: Re: House building Post by: ChibyMethos on 2006 July 17, 21:29:13 I thank you for the link. I printed the page, and I'll give it a try. I was just wondering if there were an outside program that had the same capabilities.
Title: Re: House building Post by: lindaetterlee on 2006 July 18, 02:08:07 My Homecrafter works perfectly with FFS. The updated it recently did you get the update and patches?
Title: Re: House building Post by: witch on 2006 July 18, 09:05:01 I thank you for the link. I printed the page, and I'll give it a try. I was just wondering if there were an outside program that had the same capabilities. To my knowledge, no. If you want to build sim houses, you need to run the sims game. I have two sims2 folders. The Sims 2_Current and The Sims 2_Build. I just rename whichever folder I want to use for the game to The Sims 2. The folder I use for building has no custom content so the game loads blindingly fast. Title: Re: House building Post by: ChibyMethos on 2006 July 18, 13:51:32 did you get the update and patches? I didn't patch it because i'm not having any of the issues the patch is supposed to correct, but yes, I got the new updated verson when it came out. It still don't seem to like my computer. Title: Re: House building Post by: Gwill on 2006 July 18, 15:09:41 Always patch the game.
You can wait a week or two and let other people test-run it and make sure it doesn't blow up the game, but DO patch the game. Title: Re: House building Post by: MissDoh on 2006 July 18, 16:42:08 I agree a 100% with Gwill. Eventhough the issues it fixes does not seem to be appearing in your game, you never know when this can happen and they might be there you just did not notice it yet.
Major issues were fix with it so it is always a good idea to patch it. |
