Title: Why does this Servo have a Human face when dressed in formal wear?
Post by: Gwill on 2006 July 13, 23:31:43
Does anyone know what's causing this?

This happens to just one of my servos. I have three other servos who do not have this problem.
It happens only when he's dressed in formal wear.
It still happened when I removed my downloads folder.

Servos are supposed to have normal faces when they're in formal wear.  If it doesn't go when he changes back to everyday, try putting him in front of a mirror.

The male Servo in my servo couple has been in formal gear since he was present at a wedding.  His wife was at the same wedding and she changed back into normal gear when she got out of bed, but he didn't.  Maybe he just prefers to dress-up!

Oh, and with a face like that, I'd get him changed back as soon as possible.  I can tell you haven't got the alternative "not-quite-so-fugly" face templates in your game!  Just as well he's a robot, I think.

I absolutely REFUSE to believe servos are supposed to look like that.  Like I said, I have three other servos who do not have faces.
And I do have face replacement templates, I have no idea where that ugly face came from.  He's by far the ugliest face in my neigbourhood.

Various people have attempted to explain it off as a rubber-human-mask. I have not yet located the trigger for this, and it doesn't always happen consistently.

I'll just have to kill him off and get a new one then.
I refuse to have that ugly face in my game.

Don't do that, it won't help. The problem probably runs deeper. Does it only stick when he's in formal, or does it stick around always?

Like I said, only in formal, and only for this particular servo.

Want me to do some testing?  I have a bunch of uninitialized servos.

If you can afford it without damaging your neighborhood, sure.
