More Awesome Than You!

I've been getting the infamous "This application has crashed. This application will terminate." message every time I have a Sim try to accept a job. I had the same thing happen a week or two ago in a different hood. That time, I had the Sim take the job at a different time and it was fine, and several Sims have taken jobs since then with no crashes. It has happened as I said in two different hoods and with both the newspaper and computer.

I have all EPS + holiday and Family Fun. I've installed the latest two patches. I'm attaching my log files. Anybody seen this problem, or even better know what the problem actually is?

I am not awesome enough to decipher your error logs (except they don't look like the error logs I'm used to not comprehending  :P), but do you have any custom careers or anything?

Nope, no custom careers, no custom majors, no modification of any core game files. Most of my hacks are awesome as well.

They wouldn't happen to be bodybuilders, would they?

Um, nope. No bodybuilders here.

What does their physical state have to do with this?  ??? I'm just curious.

Simsexception logs are not of any real use to us. I blame the non-awesome.

In some games (mine, and at least one other person so far) Post Uni, bodybuilders trying to get a job will crash the game on or just after the 3rd one tries. So far the only workaround is to make them change into normal sim clothes.

Sorry, JM, those were the only logs I got :( Jason aka tunaisafish asked me about an Objects log, but I didn't get one of those.

I've had this problem a few days ago twice.
The solution was that I changed the clothes and hair, after that my sims that were affected could get a job again, without the game crashing.
I think it is somehow a problem with a clothes and/or hair mesh.
I've had this problem after installing FamilyFun.
You could try to give the sim other clothes and/or hair in the game.

Oooh. Y'know, I think I might've changed a hair mesh on the Sim the first time this happened a week or so ago between the second and last attempts to take the job. I'll give that a try tonight! Weird but so is this game lol

Well darn! That fixed it...I had him change out of his custom mesh clothes and into some Maxis stuff, and no crash! :D Thank you :D

It's strange that every "expert"say clothes and hair meshes don't crash the game !!!
Most problems I've had where caused by clothes and hair meshes !!!
Freezing start up, Game crashing, Problems teens transferring to YA in university
All because of clothing and hair meshes and not because of hacks.

Here's the real question - why would a custom mesh crash the game? It's all very strange.

At least I know how to fix this problem, I was having it earlier.

I'm going to guess that in most cases it's not CLOTHING meshes causing the problem, but custom skintones linked to a custom nude mesh. That's what the bodybuilder meshes do (the nude ones, that is), and it's possible for that to cause the game to barf when it tries to add career clothing to the sim.

As for hair... no idea. Maybe it's too high poly? I had a problem with CompulsiveD's hair. Every time a sim wearing it was spawned as a visitor at a community lot or as a walk-by, the game would either freeze up or crash. Took me forever to figure out. But that was before I got a new video card.
