You need to create your sim in bodyshop, then go to 'package sims' and it will ask you if you want to upload to the exchange or save the sim to a file on your computer.

Does this mean you can't package a Sim you've already played with?  In particular, one you've grown up from a baby?

That's what it means.  Unless you do some fancy stuff in SimPE, I believe.

I think you can just copy the Sim file from the neighbourhood's character folder, move it to the right location, and open that in Bodyshop, no?

No, you can't actually (unless there is some special trick that I don't know about). I just tried it to double check. So far the only way I know is to extract the sim from sim surgery in SimPE, clone that in body shop, and then clone the clone you made. Then you can package that one.

Oh yeah, that's how I did it. Sim Surgery cloning will do it.
