Title: Wow, cinema Post by: Unnicknamed on 2006 July 02, 19:27:40 So, I have a brand new laptop, I start playing with my sims again, and I discover something cool, when my child sim pops out to a teenager a cool cinema shows in the screen.
I didnt know that, cause on my old computer didnt show them. Anyway, in which other events those things appear? Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Venusy on 2006 July 02, 19:46:39 From what I can remember, they occur for:

There is no cut scene for death by old age. I would add to this list: age transition if it happens during a birthday party. Karen Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Ancient Sim on 2006 July 03, 14:42:57 Also, First Kiss only happens if you instruct them to have their first kiss. If they have it autoomously, you don't get it, although for some reason you do get the woo-hoo one when they woo-hoo autonomously. Just as well, otherwise I wouldn't know who was up to what when I'm not looking.

Karen My sims seldom die of natural causes, but I do remember having Grim and the HUla Zombies show up when one of my platinum oldsters died. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: jsalemi on 2006 July 03, 16:04:08 Yea, they show up, but not as a 'full screen cinematic' like the others.
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Orikes on 2006 July 03, 20:53:21 Don't forget Hot-Tub Woohoo. You'll get that one even if they've alreayd woo-hoo'd in bed.
I'm a sucker for the cut scenes. Even if I've seen them a hundred times, I want to see them again. I especially like the Sim Moving Into College one. I'm always amused by which parent gets to drop them off. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Skaven on 2006 July 03, 23:51:42 Also, First Kiss only happens if you instruct them to have their first kiss. I didn't know that they would do that.Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: jsalemi on 2006 July 04, 02:14:22 Sims woo-hoo autonomously? I didn't know that they would do that. Only with hacks, like LizzLove's Love Bed (found over on MTS2) or the new version of Casual Romance TwoJeffs is testing now. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Plu on 2006 July 04, 13:27:16 My sims seldom die of natural causes, but I do remember having Grim and the HUla Zombies show up when one of my platinum oldsters died. O.o Hula zombies!? Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: cwykes on 2006 July 04, 14:36:23 You can turn them on or off in game or graphics options. I forget which. The original install sets them to whatever it thinks your PC can handle, so your new one is obviously better! I turn them off. They are annoying and you can't take a photo for the album because of the stupid cut scene you've seen n million times before.
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Jelenedra on 2006 July 04, 15:55:54 And the one for the whoohoo in bed, is also for the first whoohoo with each sim.
So if you have a romance sim and they want to whoohoo with 20 sims, then you have to watch that cutscene 20 times. (Unless of course you whoohoo with them somewhere else) Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: ElfPuddle on 2006 July 05, 17:22:01 O.o Hula zombies!? They hang out with the reaper at a death by old age. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Orikes on 2006 July 05, 18:40:17 They are annoying and you can't take a photo for the album because of the stupid cut scene you've seen n million times before. See, this is why I'm a dork. I still love seeing each cut scene, even though I've seen it a gazillion times before. I get all bouncy when the abduction cut scene starts. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Jelenedra on 2006 July 05, 21:43:56 Well, that's cause the abduction one is the coolest. ;D
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Orikes on 2006 July 05, 22:01:48 That and the entering college ones are my favorite.
I love that with the entering college one, you have a random crazy go running by and the parent shakes her head in dismay while the new college student laughs. Then when the college student graduates, he leaves and another crazy goes running by, and this time he shakes his head in dismay. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: speedreader on 2006 July 06, 02:31:58 There's a cut scene for moving into a new house?
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: jrd on 2006 July 06, 06:30:22 Yup. It zooms in to the taxi cab and shows the family on the curb.
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 July 06, 06:41:18 That one is by far the most annoying and lame, because that's when you need to stop everyone from running amok! Particularly noticeable in CAS families, which immediately begin slapping each other before the cutscene is even over.
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: jrd on 2006 July 06, 06:43:48 Perhaps it's no wonder why Maxis has completely skipped adding cutscenes to Nightlife and OFB part 1 and OFB part 2 (FFS).
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Lythdan on 2006 July 06, 08:38:25 Remember, there are 2 abduction cutscenes: The actual abduction and the return.

I just got a new computer that lets me see cutscenes, and I have to agree with JM on this one. I had one of my sims go into aspiration failure within minutes of being put on the lot because her husband told her a dirty joke, which lowered their relationship and caused them to fall out of love. Which was one of her fears. Oy. Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: DrBeast on 2006 July 06, 12:57:59 The moment I plonk down a new empty lot, I enter it, set Free Will to Off, save and exit. Takes care of the moved in cutscene annoyance.
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Orikes on 2006 July 06, 15:10:20 I've never had a CAS family melt down like that during the cutscene before, but I do wish I could turn just that one off.

Takes care of the moved in cutscene annoyance. Doesn't quite help entirely: If your sim is a vampire, he'll be dead before that cutscene ends. The college move-in cutscene is another lethal killer.Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: speedreader on 2006 July 07, 05:07:57 I've had all the cutesy vids turned off for so long I had completely forgotten about the move in one. Thanks for reminding me.
Title: Re: Wow, cinema Post by: Jelenedra on 2006 July 07, 14:46:24 Wouldn't it just be easier (and safer) to cure the vampirism, then go to college, and then get all vamped again?
