Title: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 20, 17:54:59 One of the intresting part of that game is "Torturing Townies" ;D
i like to play without abusing of special object like Insiminator & c. i've a "townies killer" on my niegborhood.. and on the underground of his home there is a jail.. it work in a realy simple way. i made a story (http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/story_detail.php?asset_id=45972&asset_type=story&user_id=230108) some time ago..where you can see how ... i use the University door.. and it's locked.. i call the townies they come.. they enter on a jail but they can't exit .. 'cause the door didn't grant the access ;D ;D The problem is that, now (i've Open For Business) they didin't die !!! oh hell !!! i try and try and try again ... but they didn't die :( the townies say.. "i've to go... bye bye..." naturally they can't exit.. but i can't interact with 'em.. and i can't kill 'em :) they fall on the floor 'cause the need to sleep, and they pee around the jail... .. some time they cry .. but they didn't die ! so.. my last hope is to ask.. is it fixable ? could you ? would you ? my serial killer are soo sad plz help ! Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: jsalemi on 2006 June 20, 18:04:21 Yea, that changed with OFB to prevent townie deaths on community lots (I think was the reason). Pescado was working on a hack to fix that, and I believe it was in testing, but I don't think he's completed it yet.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Jack Rudd on 2006 June 20, 18:09:06 I have a townie killing device on one of my lots. The one where the working Sim is an Ecological Guru. ;D
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: jsalemi on 2006 June 20, 18:24:46 Yea, to be entirely correct, you can't kill townies by just walling them in and starving them anymore. You have to use something like a cow plant, or a fire producer (the fire jets from NL are handy for this) to kill them. Or drop a satellite on them with Insim's suicide function. Or the ever popular "have them go swimming in a pool without a ladder". :)
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Jack Rudd on 2006 June 20, 18:38:12 Yea, to be entirely correct, you can't kill townies by just walling them in and starving them anymore. Or the ever popular "have them go swimming in a pool without a ladder". :) The Cowplant is the best of these, because you actually get an in-game benefit from destroying the townie in question. (Of course, none of these are particularly wonderful for the continued longevity of your neighbourhood, but that's another matter.)Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 20, 19:00:44 negative !
if they say "bye bye" you could try to burn 'em.. kill 'em ... eat 'em ;D (cow plant case).. but they didn't die ! :( ATM i'm using the The EldrichTome Necronomicon(Al Azif)-Animated Spellbook (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=147564&highlight=tome) which is one of the coolest sims killer stuff ;D with the tome you made a sim to fall in sleep.. or you can burn him immediatly... when i capture a sim on my jail (which that isn't a community loot, it's a residential one) they will burn.. but they didn't die btw i've tryed to take the control of the "living" sims and it have a "leave loot" command in queue.. ive paused the game, removed the command, and used Insiminator's suicide ... when i've removed the pause, the sim's queue was be restored and my last command was removed :-\ so, you can kill the townies only if he didn't say "bye bye" maybe Pescado can change it :) Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: jsalemi on 2006 June 20, 19:02:30 Just add Pescado's notownieregen hack, and you won't keep getting new townies to replace the dead ones unless you make them yourself.
Besides, if you're worried about the number of character files, as discussions here in the past have stated, the maximum number since NL is now pretty high before it starts causing problems. Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: jsalemi on 2006 June 20, 19:05:42 so, you can kill the townies only if he didn't say "bye bye" maybe Pescado can change it :) The cow plant always works, and TwoJeffs has a buyable career reward collection here in his section. :) And I'm still pretty sure you can drown them (I'll have to try it later ;D ). But it doesn't matter if it's a residential or community lot -- the game was changed to prevent townie deaths from most of the normal methods anywhere. It's the usual Maxis 'use a mallet to kill a flea' approach to problem solving. :) Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 20, 19:16:27 intresting.. i could add a room to my jail with another university door..
with the cowplant inside.. when i want to kill the towny i just have to open the door .. lol that intresting BTW they will never be illness ... and they will never die 'cause illness, hunger.. or something like that.. i think should need a global mod that will permit to the townies to be vulnerable so they can • Get a Cold • Get the Flu • Get pneumonia • Get Food Poisoning and die just like any other sim... ;D Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Venusy on 2006 June 20, 19:33:01 intresting.. i could add a room to my jail with another university door.. No, we need less plague, not more!with the cowplant inside.. when i want to kill the towny i just have to open the door .. lol that intresting BTW they will never be illness ... and they will never die 'cause illness, hunger.. or something like that.. i think should need a global mod that will permit to the townies to be vulnerable so they can • Get a Cold • Get the Flu • Get pneumonia • Get Food Poisoning and die just like any other sim... ;D Anyway, you may be interested in killablevisitors.package (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/ofb/test/killablevisitors.package). NOTE: The linked hack is in testing and may (or may not) blow up your game in a big firey ball visible from space. Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 20, 19:36:00 i go to testing it now ! .. love u and every1 that made it
thnx ;D Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: liegenschonheit on 2006 June 20, 20:25:33 Killing sims in the pool without a ladder is bad! You get ghosts that wander around leaving trails of puddles everywhere.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 20, 20:34:20 Killing sims in the pool without a ladder is bad! You get ghosts that wander around leaving trails of puddles everywhere. lol is it true ? i've to test it ;D Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Ness on 2006 June 20, 20:44:44 Simple solution to the puddles... just move the tombstones!
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: liegenschonheit on 2006 June 20, 20:45:07 Yep. I had one drowned ghost that trailed puddles everywhere on the lot. The puddles were everywhere in the street and inside the house, but on the lawn they disappeared and caused weeds to grow instead. Cleanup was a pain in the butt.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 20, 21:11:12 Pescado Strikes again !
the hack looks to work realy fine :) atm i've burned a townies after he say "oh.. it's too late i've to go.. bye bye" i've waited a bit .. just to see that i can't interact with him anymore.. and then i've burned him with the The EldrichTome.... he die !! great Jobs & Thnx alot to Venusy too :) Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: starrling on 2006 June 21, 03:14:45 I tried to drown a townie and by simday 5 he was still swimmin around. By simday8 I gave up and sent him home. Saw him at community lots later - not a scratch on him (dammit). He deserved it. He ravaged my sims money tree one too many times.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Jysudo on 2006 June 21, 03:37:24 I just don't understand what's so joyful about killing townies. If you love killing so much, why not play other killing games where it is so easy to blow a leg and hand off some character without going through this bunch of hassle?
Just wondering ??? Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: starrling on 2006 June 21, 03:47:43 There's nothing joyful about it but they are just pixels. I didn't make the townies, the game did. Besides, killing in the sims is nothing like killing in other games. I hate blood and guts games and anything with loud noises (like guns). And it's not like I kill a sim all the time. And often it's part of a storyline.
I don't relate it to wars and such at all. Does anyone else? Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Venusy on 2006 June 21, 06:17:27 I tried to drown a townie and by simday 5 he was still swimmin around. By simday8 I gave up and sent him home. He ravaged my sims money tree one too many times. /me wonders why starrling doesn't have savethetrees (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/ofb/hacks/savethetrees.zip) installed.Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 21, 08:20:45 As i said upper on this tread ...
to kill the townies i use "The EldrichTome Necronomicon(Al Azif)-Animated Spellbook" (link to the object is up) but after that thay say "it's late i've to go.. bye bye..." they didn't burn or die.. now with the "Venusy" patch they die again :) and thnx alot. but thei didn't get illness.. (wonder why)... i've tryed with insim. and with a poisoned pizza but after 3 days the townies eat it and didn't get poisoned :( Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 June 21, 12:20:43 That's not a Venusy patch, that's just something in the test directory that Venusy linked to. :P
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: BlueSoup on 2006 June 21, 14:41:08 Oh, but the "Venusy patch" has such a good ring to it. :P
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Nailati on 2006 June 21, 16:10:46 That's just dirty.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: starrling on 2006 June 21, 16:31:06 /me wonders why starrling doesn't have savethetrees (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/ffs/ofb/hacks/savethetrees.zip) installed. Because I don't know what that is? :P Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Emma on 2006 June 21, 16:41:44 'Save the trees' stops automonous harvesting of the money trees :)
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: starrling on 2006 June 21, 17:30:40 Oh! How stupid of me not to figure that out by the name (duh). Actually, I am quite often referred to (in RL) as a tree hugger so my brain stopped functioning after relating it to that. hehe, happens too much lately, I'm afraid.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 21, 21:08:03 That's not a Venusy patch, that's just something in the test directory that Venusy linked to. :P Sorry Boss ;D btw it works at 50% but at the end it's good enogh ;) oh..i'm curious like a kat so what about " tombstonemovefix.package" ? :) i've made a (graveyard (http://www.max3d.it/SimSite/stuff/Graveyards-full.jpg) that u can find it here (http://www.max3d.it/SimSite/stuff.asp?id=4)) and i move all tombestone here.. but there are no ghost there :( .. that's a bit of sad... should be nice to go the cimitery at night to meet some ghost, isn't it ? ;) Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 June 21, 22:01:45 The Tombstone Move Fix is an in-testing hack that removes the "has died on another lot" that appears when you move the tombstone and the ghost appears to wave at you, because the "dying on another lot" immediately counts as that sim dying again, which drops the aspiration meters of everyone affected by it.
Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: stormygsa on 2006 June 21, 23:38:01 I downloaded a hack at Sims2Workshop by Wintermuteai1 that has 9 poisons in it that you can put out for the unsuspecting to drink and dye a dramatic death.
Each posion is the color of the ghost and he animated each of the deaths differently. I enjoy using it on the townies I hate. It's most likely an unawsome hack, but I don't use it very often, and I'm terrified of the cow plant. Gail ;) Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: jsalemi on 2006 June 22, 00:46:29 It's most likely an unawsome hack, but I don't use it very often, and I'm terrified of the cow plant. The cow plant is manageable if you have JMP's 'darwincowplant' hack -- then only sims with low logic are attracted to it. Also, it's been way easier to fence in the cow plant and controll access since OFB added the ability to lock doors and gates. Just open the gate when a potential target is nearby, and make sure all your playable sims have some logic points when you do. Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 22, 09:12:18 well "darwincowplant" looks like another great hack
*edit: i can't find the DarwinCowPlant.. :\ any link ? The Tombstone Move Fix works great and all my tombs at the cimitery spawn alot of ghost now :D (http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/1020/snapshot31979bdc91a6d7c90xw.jpg) i just hope that the memory-spam fix will work 'cause may townies now will see ghosts ;D ;D ;D great job J.M. thnx alot :) Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: jsalemi on 2006 June 22, 13:14:41 well "darwincowplant" looks like another great hack .. i love this place :D Yea, the darwincowplant + nouniprotect + a buyable ASP reward collections = a great way to make haunted dorms for your knowledge sims to fulfill 'See ghost' wants. :) Combine with 'nodormieregen' and you'll slowly decimate the stupid Maxis dormies so you can replace them with your own. ;D Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: MaximilianPS on 2006 June 22, 17:40:24 well i think that nodormieregen is one of the Awesome hack :)
and this one of the Awesome forum ^^ Title: Re: I've a challenging request Post by: Nailati on 2006 June 22, 18:05:30 Group hug!
