The easier breakup hack hasn't been updated since uni, is there another hack that has that function now?

I know this is a way belated question, but I haven't needed it till now.

Inteen is all that I know of at the moment.

However I suppose that's quite a hack to put in if all youw ant is easier break ups  :P

I've been hoping that this would be updated as well.  I tried the old version just to see if it would work, but all it did was prevent the breakup option from even showing up at all.  I knew it should have been there because after one caught the other cheating and they hated each others guts, they still had no option to break up.  I took the hack back out, and they had the option.  I would like to see this hack updated because sometimes it's too much trouble to get one to catch the other cheating and then make them break up. 

[nods head sagely] We need "irreconcilable differences" rather than "I can't believe I caught you cheating you scumbag"

Yes please. This will be very useful indeed, especially when a relationship is pants no matter what you do.

Thanks for asking, witch.  I was wondering also but didn't want to risk showing my ignorance.  ;)  I thought it could be a typo, but then, I've learned all sorts of strange phrases from the British posters here!   :D

Bless, all those poor ignoramuses with no knowledge of the use of "pants" as a derogatory term meaning it's all gone to shit.  ::) I think, but it's only conjecture, that it's a reference to skid-marks (the stains on your knickers when you follow through with a fart) and has its beginnings there. Lovely, eh?

I just use Carrigan's Spider.. I like it cos it has an either/or option.  As in.. either A and B both now hate each other .. or are neutral if you want it to be as if they hadn't interacted before.. Or A loves B but B hates A.. or any combo of neutral, likes, loves or hates.

 Plus the Spider has a lot of other options on it.. for really quick cheating  ;)

I think the Spider is just a remesh of the Sim Modder, which is available through debug mode anyways. I think I might have a copy of the easier breakup hack that I've kept updated. I forget how it worked. I'll take a look at it and maybe I'll make it available if it seems fairly innocuous (in the sense that I think it won't break anything). :P

I know I can use InSim's relationship adjuster or SimPE to remove relationship flags, and I've done that when I've had bugs that caused two sims to fall in love, but I want some kind of interaction.  Just not on the scale of making them furious with each other and hating each other's guts.

Hrm. Well... that would probably require a complete clone of the interaction, because last I looked, the break-up interaction itself can cause furiousness. The sims have to have a negative relationship for it to sort of be a 'platonic' or 'mutual' break up that doesn't piss off either party, resulting in good break-up memories. Bad break-up memories are a result of having a positive relationship. When I was playing with my Adults Go Steady mod, I had one sim cheat on the other sim. As a result, the victim of the cuckoldry was jealous and got furious at the other sim. The other sim still had a positive relationship for his partner. So, when I had the cuckolded sim break up with his partner, he received a good break-up memory while the cuckolder received a bad break-up memory.

I can see that the addition of furiousness in NL makes it a bit different.  How did JM's original easier breakup mod work?  If I recall correctly, it would allow breakups at 90 STR, or something like that.  Which is a lot easier to achieve than 50 or so, especially in sims who are married and have a 100/100 relationship without even doing anything.

It would just be nice to be able to have an amicable breakup instead of all this raging hatred and flaming bag of poo leaving stuff. And no, I don't want to get rid of the flaming bag of poo altogether, because I think it is funny. I think there should maybe be a "lets just be friends" option or something.

I agree. My sims like to shop around before they finally settle down, it irritates me that the only way to clear the little hearts is by cheating or somehow fighting with the other sim. There is no "I don't hate you  but this relationship is boring now and let's move on" option. And in order for them to break up, they need to have some sort of official relationship, too- there is no way to just clear the hearts if they are both in love with each other.

Actually Ellatrue there is.   You have to use the unawesome though.    I use the relations moniter in the Insim.     You have to remove the hearts while the other sim involved is on the lot though.    My sims do shop around.

edit   I guess it is cheating, but how many of us end up with the first person we kiss?    The game isn't really very
        realistic in that regard.

I know, but it would be better as an interaction. I don't like having to use the insim for that.

If this is not a cloned social, then it will most likely conflict with my adultsgosteady hack, which already mods the test bhavs for breaking up. I'm not home right now, so I'll have to check it later. I'll post again once I know for sure whether you can use them together or not.
