Title: Hysterical Death
Post by: buddha pest on 2006 June 03, 23:18:21
Whenever I move a grave now, all the relatives of the tombstone owner act like the sim just died a second time.

Complete w/ crying and sighing, waking up early that night, and just generally being difficult.

Is that normal?

I also get the message of "so-and-so died on another lot and will return to the place of his death" everytime I move a grave. I can't remember if that's always happened or if it's a new thing related to this Double Grieving problem.

That's really strange.

Do you move the graves soon after the Sim died, or days later?

Weeks later. I usually don't move graves until there are about 4 on the lot and the ghosts start to overwhelm me.

I know the died on another lot message is normal - I get it every time.

I usually move the graves as soon as they die, so I don't know about the extra mourning.

I've had the second round of mourning on the few occasions I have left a grave on the lot just long enough to fill a see ghost want ... just when you thought they'd all got over it, daddy comes home from work and throws an immediate blub-fest out by the mailbox cos his dad's grave "moved out" while he was at work.

I think this answers part of your question: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=4365.msg124363#msg124363

Ahhh, interesting.

I wonder though, even if a second killing is required to move dead sims between lots, couldn't there be a check of some sort to see if it was only a 'tombstone-move killing'?

Think of the children.

I'm looking into the matter.

I see there is some sort of file in testing that pertains to this issue, so maybe the issue will be fixed soon.

Yes, go play with it if you want to see if the issue goes away.
