Title: Has this happened to anyone else?
Post by: ChibyMethos on 2006 May 30, 16:51:26
I was playing in my Legasy house and the ghosts were sending the family into asperation failure  so I moved the graves to Gother Green Lawns.

Now, I went into build mode to place them inside, but the graves weren't there!!

So I went back to the house and had a sim go to the cemetery  The graves were on the side walk. So I took them home and sent them again, with the same result.

Help! I can't keep them on the lot, they're killing the family, but they can't get into Gather either. What do I do? ???

I believe the proper procedure is to click on the headstone and select "move to...." and the cemetary.  however, I could be wrong as I have never moved a gravestone myself.

Do you mean Pescado's ghostbuster?

Title: Re: Has this happened to anyone else?
Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 June 01, 11:10:24
Different, but unrelated. Jeffy's hack overrides the ghost's behavior globally, to produce various results, the Ghostbuster overrides or alters nothing, but simply banishes the ghost from the warded room when it stops.

Oh, well, I've occasionally used the ghostbuster, but I've never had anything worse happen than peeing in their pants when they've seen a ghost!

If their motives are low, they can die from fright.  I had a bride die on her wedding day once because she was so busy partying and mingling that she had to pee, was hungry and needed to use the bathroom (this was all before macrotastics JM, so don't bother pointing and laughing) and when the ghost scared her on her way in to use the bathroom, she dropped dead right then and there.  Of course, it was before Uni too, so there was no ressurectromitron and I didn't know at that time that you could plead with Grimmy.  I think I had had the game for about a week at that point.

Well, the only ghosts I had back then were Michael Bachelor and the Goth Ghosts.  (Until I started killing townies!)

my most annying ghost thing is the spectre house in strangeville where they are constantly mopping huge number of puddles from ghosts.  hm, i guess i can buy them a cleaner robot now.

That only empties the pedal bin or cleans up any spills.  and whatever you do, don't get a gardening one, if it goes wrong you could have 100x as much water.  I'd suggest you build a mausoleum on a foundation, and don't give it any steps.  then stick all the tombstones inside, where they'll turn into urns, and let them wander round in there.

aagh, the cleaning robot doesnt clean up ghost puddles?    i still dont understand why the housecleaner robot arm cant grab dirty dishes.  i did have a hydro robot go berserk,  it was pretty ugly!

And your sims' environment score goes absolutely scarlet!  It took Jimmy Cash and his fiancee about five sim hours to clean up the mess!  And I didn't have the comm-skilling hack installed at the time!

did you notice a whole lot of weeds after that?  im not sure if the flood did it, or i just wasnt paying attention to the garden before.  in fact,  the person i assign to tidy says in the prima book should do gardening but not one of them ever has!  is this just me  or are other people seeing this? right now im running very few other hacks besides insiminator and the maty hacks.  and weirdly, a lot of twojeffs hacks dont seem to be working for me.

The tidier doesn't garden.  You always get weeds if you have a puddle, water balloons cause them, so does a sim "having an accident".  Sometimes one of your customers will go and trim your hedges for you, which is nice, othrwise you can always influence one of them to do it since you can't hire the gardener on a comm lot.

The clean bot does suck up puddles.  It really only deals with messes that are on the floor, so I find it's not that helpful, really.

And when it breaks - you get piles of rubbish all over your lot!

i had the muchie bot break and it droped stinking green dishes all over!  it was too funny!

The clean bot has never cleaned puddles in my game!  Maybe it was a lazy one!

i  THINK i did...  now i'll have to check.  but my servos dont do anything except socialize and play with they toy robot and computer.   instead of that hack that turns off the do chores, i really  need one to tell the servo to get off its metal butt and do something USEFUL.

I only have one servo, and she lives all alone now, since Brandi asked her creator Jack Cash to move in - and he did - but I thought, Brandi won't want a rival, so he didn't take Roberta with him!

I had an old lady Sim die from her brother-in-law's ghost scaring her.  She was in relatively good health, nothing in the red.  I guess it was just the fact that she was old.   ???

build a mausoleum on a foundation . .  and let them wander round in there.

Won't I need to put water around it or something to keep them inside? I heard they can't cross water.

Not if you build it on a foundation and don't give it stairs. Of course, your Sims won't be able to get into it either, but the same would be true if you put a moat around it.

Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 June 02, 17:26:52
And if you have a sim get the want to see a ghost, you can always put some stairs there temporarily!

Well, I tried building the house with no door or stairs fro the urns, but guess what?

Obviously a high-level ghost!  Did you use the ghost-buster as well as building the mausoleum?

It has to be water - they can't cross water.

That makes sense, and with the swimming pool options from NL, it becomes a lot easier to achieve!

  Did you use the ghost-buster?

Ghost buster? ???

It has to be water - they can't cross water.

I'll try the water. My poor sims . . .

The ghost-buster is one of JM's hacks,  You buy it with aspiration points.

Thanks ZZ . . .ano . . .what does it do? :-[

Title: Re: Has this happened to anyone else?
Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 June 07, 22:16:55
Well, it's supposed to prevent ghosts from entering a particular room, I think.  I haven't used it since I played the Specter house, and that was pre NL!

Title: Re: Has this happened to anyone else?
Post by: jrd on 2006 June 07, 22:32:09
That's what it does yeah. It will scan for and zap any ghost found idling in a room where it is placed, zapped ghosts return to their grave marker.

Thought so, but my memory isn't what it was, though I do remember the Nervous Subject (who had moved into the family home and changed his name to Norman Specter) was sleeping in an outhouse as he was too afraid to live in the house itself, and one of those kept him free of ghosts.  But they spent an awful lot of time mopping up the garden!

Thanks I'll try it and see what happens. I'm gettiung ready to have a new baby and there's nothing like a baby to bring ghosts into the house. :D
