Title: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 10, 02:07:06 Heya! First post here... I thought this place is awesome, and I had to be a member.
So anyways, here's my problem. Whenever I enter the "Spawn" menu (after activating boolProp testingCheatsEnabled), the second and third parts (clicking "More") are FILLED with nothing but "Memory Manager". If I click it once, the Sim Modder spawns, but clicking Memory Manager any more times doesn't do anything (htat I can notice, anyways). Also, if I click on a Sim (without holding shift), one of the options is "Spawn". Under that menu are anywhere from two to four options (depending on the situation) that all say "Memory Manager". Clicking the top or right ones will cause my Sim to Freestyle. Clicking the left option causes my Sim to Primp. Clicking the bottom option causes my Sim to check out all the other Sims in the room. I've tried deleting some of the hacks I've downloaded, but I have yet to fix this problem. Suggestions? Solutions? Please help. This problem is slowly turning my into a BFBVFS. -- Griffinhart UPDATE: Turns out that I still get that "Spawn" menu when clicking on a Sim even without activating boolProp testingCheatsEnabled. Under this menu, there are five "Memory Manager" choices that I haven't tried out yet. Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Simlover on 2006 May 10, 04:22:48 Try moving your entire downloads folder out onto your desktop and see if that helps. Out of curiosity what are you exactly trying to accomplish?
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 10, 04:42:06 My cousin told me about a badge juicer thingy and I wanted to try it out on a new family.
And besides, it really annoys me. I have +15 "Memory Manager" options (total) that REPLACE certain interactions (Freestyle, Freestyle for Tips, etc.). I'll try moving downloads to desktop, and see if that'll help... -- Griffinhart Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Simlover on 2006 May 10, 04:59:39 There was a discussion about a badge juicer thingy a little while back, im sure it was here. You could try doing a search and see if that helps.
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 10, 05:18:29 Anyways, moving Downloads to the desktop didn't help. I don't recall of any mods I downloaded that added any sort of "Memory Manager" to the game, although I did have FFSDebugger and the nodeathmemories mods, both of them I uninstalled (after having the problem).
-- Griffinhart EDIT: Nothing I could find about the badge juicer, other than removing basges, etc. My problem is that "Memory Manager" replaces several "Spawn" items as well as a couple of interactions, self-interactions, and I think makes a couple of self-interactions disappear. T_T Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 May 10, 06:14:44 Maybe the offending non-awesome hack is hidden someplace other than Downloads. Try nuking your entire EAGAME~1 directory.
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 10, 23:57:34 Maybe. But I'm not going to do something THAT desperate.

Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 13, 09:21:21 Woo! I fixed it by removing all my non-Awesome mods! Now to slowly add them in to figure out which one is causing the problem...
-- Griffinhart UPDATE: Fixed. It's that darn "Teens Can WooHoo and More" mod... T_T Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 May 13, 10:35:09 Let that be a lesson to you: Dabbling in the non-awesome is sure to bring DOOM and DESTRUCTION upon your game. Not to mention we don't support such behavior and if you insist on doing it, you should go whine on their site and not ours.
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 13, 20:28:32 Yeah. That, and I had like.... 30 unnamed .packages.
*Note to self: Install non-Awesome mods one at a time...* -- Griffinhart Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: akatonbo on 2006 May 13, 20:41:22 I can't even imagine having hacks installed that you can't easily identify. All of mine are organized in subdirectories, usually with each hack in its own subdirectory, occasionally with a bundle of sensibly-named hacks by the same creator in one directory.
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 13, 22:56:58 Wait, don't subdirectories make the hacks/mods not work?
-- Griffinhart Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: jrd on 2006 May 13, 23:04:15 Only in the base game and uni, and then only clothing, makeup, and genetics.
Since Nightlife subdirectories work. Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: akatonbo on 2006 May 13, 23:12:20 Ever since I got NL I haven't had ANYTHING in my root downloads directory -- every last file is in subfolders.
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 May 21, 09:12:58 Me too, and Walls and floors aren't even in Downloads.
Can I suggest getting the SimWardrobe hack conflict detector from Paladin's Place? It's worked for me in helping sort out one or two hacks which didn't like each other a whole lot! And it only takes about a minute to run it, so it's not a big time consumer to run it every time you put in some new hacks. Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 26, 00:59:05 Ooh. Where can I get that?
-- Griffinhart Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 May 26, 01:04:33 http://www.simwardrobe.com/ (http://www.simwardrobe.com/)
There you go - the site is called Paladin's Place. Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 26, 01:11:35 Fwee! Thanks!
-- Griffinhart Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 May 26, 01:17:10 You're welcome. When you install the program, you can make a shortcut to stick on the desktop and it'll run from there, and takes about a minute.
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: momtogirls on 2006 May 26, 01:27:24 the badge juicer has been extracted by LyricLee over at modthesims2, it comes in the form of a little toy boat. That way, you don't have to play with testingcheatsenabled if you don't want to
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 May 26, 01:32:18 I never do unless it's necessary!
Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: Final Warrior on 2006 May 26, 03:03:07 Neh, fized the problem a while back. The "Teens Can Woohoo" mod was conflicting with some mod or another.
Ah well... I guess my teens won't be able to get laid... like we're supposed to be able to in real life... =( -- Griffinhart Title: Re: Memory Manager problem... Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 May 26, 11:08:46 Well, I believe in most US States it's illegal with anyone who isn't a teen, and unfortunately most of these teen woohoo mods are not age-specific, so maybe you're better off making your sims wait until they go to Uni - which they can do the day after they grow up to teenager if you want!
