Title: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: Orbit on 2006 April 19, 00:12:15 I've played OFB for about 1 hour now, and I don't seem to find anything worth downloading a mod to change, but what mods do you guys think I should get for OFB?
Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: Marvin Kosh on 2006 April 19, 00:15:58 I believe there's one to adjust the crafting costs of robots and toys downwards, over on MTS2. It makes it actually worthwhile to have a robot or toy store, considering the actual time you have to put in to make them.

Look at All Hack thread and directory. Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: MissDoh on 2006 April 19, 04:01:14 There are a few fixes that Pescado and Crammyboy made that worths a look at.

Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: Pegasys on 2006 April 19, 05:11:10 Get the fix for disappearing inventory items from Crammyboy if you're going to be doing a bakery or crafted food items. It's called Craftable Restock Fix.
Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: ecaguimbal on 2006 April 19, 13:14:47 If you don't want your Sims die unexpectedly while riding the elevator you must use the mod from mts2 that features no death from the elevator.
Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2006 April 19, 20:23:36 I believe there's one to adjust the crafting costs of robots and toys downwards, over on MTS2. It makes it actually worthwhile to have a robot or toy store, considering the actual time you have to put in to make them. Adjusting the cost of robots and toys downwards is meaningless. You should simply adjust the prices upwards. Nothing under $200 is worth the time to sell it. It just doesn't justify paying someone a minimum of $30 an hour to sell an item with a < $5 profit margin. I rarely bother to sell anything for less than $200, and if something *IS* less than $200, I use custom pricing to jack it up to something worth my time to sell if I want to stock it.Title: Re: What mods should I get for OFB? Post by: ZiggyDoodle on 2006 April 19, 20:34:56 Quote I use custom pricing to jack it up to something worth my time to sell if I want to stock it. I tried that too, JM, putting a $25K price tag on Servo then sending a playable Sim to purchase it. But when I went back into Benny's Bot Shop after the sale, his profit line sure didn't reflect the major increase that sale should have given. Since I probably screwed things up somehow, will try again since I have three more Servos for sale in that store. But this time I'll track the income/expense figures before the sale and afterwards. No, you didn't screw anything up -- this is an apparent bug in OFB that was discussed here a while ago. If you have a playable go to an owned lot and buy something, the money apparently never actually transfers to the business owner the way it should. But if a playable wanders into a store while you're playing the store owner and buys something, the money transfers just fine. This will probably be corrected in the next OFB patch (we hope). |
