Title: Motoki's OFB Hidden Hair Files
Post by: vaughje on 2006 April 18, 11:48:58
Hey um, I had downloaded the 2 files Motoki extracted from OFB, so they would show in game but use Maxis textures.  I think I downloaded from the old The Laden Swallow site, but the new one doesn't have them... or I couldn't find them.

If they are posted on another site and I'm missing it can someone post a link?  Or if you're feeling really generous you could email them to me.   :-*  I know they're available on sims connection but I liked the idea of not having to have the extra textures and not having to go and bin them now that I can finally bin hairs with Theo's plugin yay!

Thanks in advance-

Yes Pinhead did it, not me. I think he was just afraid to distribute thinking the Janna might get her panties in a bunch, but he offered them to her to host on her site and she didn't, plus they are all Maxis files so no one can really claim stealing except for Maxis heh.

Yea I've had beef with sims connection before, but actually last time I bitched they gave me 3 free months haha.  I just thought for sure I'd be able to redownload most of what I lost in a reinstall disaster but when I got to this I was like NOOOOO.

Cheers

Edit:  Can't spell...

It does animate better than the old one that was out.  But the hair keeps clipping through my sims left cheek.

Maybe I just have fat cheeked sims...

I find that it looks stunning on sims that have thinner faces e.g. Cassandra Goth - sorry the photo is so dodgy.  I did have to remove her glasses though as they cut through the hair and looked a little odd.

same - you need thin-faced sims for it, and no glasses!

I find the animations in CAS are much worse than in the game - the clipping really isn't noticable at all in game, unless you are zoomed right in and looking for it - and I generally don't watch things that close up!

It is the male one that worries me - I haven't seen any animations of it at all, yet people keep talking about them!

Some of the regular Maxis hairs clip on some faces too. The long university male hair tends to clip on the cheeks of most sims I have put it on. :P

I notice that cheek problem, and i think that this made maxis not include the hair.
but sincerally, i don't notice too much in the game. And some of maxis hats have problems
like this also, but not in cheeks. I notice a hair under the hat that clip the forehead of my sim.

and just to explain something, i didn't change anything in the mesh. It's exactly the same that maxis
left shipped with OFB. I only linked everything to show up in the catalog. This is why the package is so
small. And of course that if you don't have OFB will not show it.

No complaints from me pinhead. I think it is lovely. I like this hair for sims with thinner faces and the Nina Caliente one for those with rounder faces.  I haven't yet tried out the male one but that is on my list of things to do.

vilia,

Is that Robin from "One Piece" in your av?

vilia,

Is that Robin from "One Piece" in your av?

Short answer: yes

Long answer: yes, I'm a big Robin fan and as I did my first degree in Ancient History (with a little archaeology thrown in) she seemed most appropriate as an avatar.  I also simply adore Chopper.  I've got 2 simese fighting fish - one called Luffy (cause he's red) & the other called Franky (cause he's blue).  ;D EDIT: and I luv Zoro not Zolo! :P
