This is a brand new neighborhood, brand new college, and the girl eating the mac and cheese is a dormie. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot??

I am pretty sure this issue is fixed by the uni/nl/ofb patch. Just get whichever one you have the latest ep for :)

Nope; I have all the latest patches, and it seems to have become MORE common after the OFB patch.  Before it, I had maybe one 'ghost dormie' --  now I sometimes get 2 or 3 at a time.

Ah, I haven't got OFB installed, and only have the patch up to NL. The fix works for my game, maybe they broke it again in the OFB patch....

Or it could be a combination of OFB and JM's 'nodormieprotect' patch, since it seems to happen when the dormies go into their room and then turn around and come right out again instead of staying in there a while.

I don't have the OFB patch and I don't have nodormieprotect. Mac and Cheese Girl was the first ghost dormie I've ever seen - and there was another one a little later on, too. I thought it might just have been because this sim I was playing was actually playing through college in a dorm rather than being rampaged through in a private house... but I've played sims through college before and there were never any ghosts.

I have played lots in dorms and have never seen this happen in my game

all eps and patches and had my 1st 2 ghost dormies today.

It use to happen to me.  Since I install OFB I did not play University part yet.

Remember that Maxis screw-up in OFB and some bugs that were gone with the 1st NL patch reappered after 2nd NL patch (final exam bug).  It was fix with the OFB patch (final exam) but it does not mean they fix everything they have screwed up. ::)

It could be, I don't have the nodormieprotect hack installed, cos they were literally dropping like flies! I had 3 cemeteries in univerity town alone :D

I have that hack by JM but seriously my dormies are pretty intelligent. None of them are dead yet. They actually know how to bathe, eat and sleep!

I don't have the hack, because I don't play dorms very often now. One semester max, really. Anyway, I've definitely had my share of transparent dormies!

wow, I thought this was the norm, it happens quite often in my game, but I thought it was something to do with MY game, or my computer...  ::)  But I generally (for the most part), have all dormies, bar mine, as ghostly apparitions.  They can still interact though, so I didn't worry about it..

I have somtimes Dormies invisible. It looks to me the game could not see they are not in rest mode. Lights switch off if  invisibles are alone in a room like they are sleeping at this time.

Yea, and you can also 'bring them back' by forcing an error on them with the testing cheats if it bugs you.  But I kinda enjoy the ghost dormies... :)

Used to be if you made them selectable, took control of them and gave them a shower, they'll go back to normal. Or if they had wandered off lot, they'll come back normal too. Are both still true?

Don't know about the shower thing (never paid that much attention), but yes, if they do leave for class in a transparent state they come back normal.
