Title: Assign/...Be DJ working for anyone else?
Post by: Dark Trepie on 2006 March 30, 02:35:04
I've got a family I've been playing in a throw-away hood that consists of two vampires, a zombie, and a servo.  So I figured I'd have them buy the Crypt O' Night club since it seemed fitting.

I hired an employee since there were 5 objects there that needed to have sims assigned to it.  The one I hired was a downtownie teen who had no talent badges, but she had quite a few creativity skill points.  So I decided to put her on the DJ Booth seeing as how she wouldn't stratch the records.  But when I assign her to it she acts as if it isn't even there and goes to play pinball instead.  I finally just assigned her to be the server, which worked, and had one of my controlable sims be the DJ.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem.  And what could be causing it.  (hack conflicts prehaps?)

Assign... Be DJ doesn't work for Teens. Don't know why. But it does work for Adults.

I noted this particular glitch here http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=3287.msg101807#msg101807

Wish there was an easy way to tell teens from adults in the hire dialog...

I assume we're talking about townie teens. Teens are often completely unemployed when hired. Sometimes they have a job in one of the teen tracks - of course, some of the jobs there have the same names as adult jobs, so that's no help. They also tend to have very few skillpoints - just enough for their teen jobs, or none at all if they don't have one, and because of this they have lower pay requirements. I'm not positive but they may have lower pay requirements anyhow because they are teens.

These things don't make it a whole lot easier to tell but they help a little.

My townies are mostly CAS made or generated, so the usual ways to tell them apart don't work. :/
I am simply going to send them all to college and then make them dormies I think.

That does make it a lot harder. I can usually tell when my townies are teens because I made them all and didn't make a whole lot of them, but I'm sure in a few months and after a few more generations are born I'm going to have no idea who's a teen and who isn't anymore, unless the townie has an adult-only hairstyle.

Hit on this thread also only today (since the problem just hit me yesterday). Nevertheless - a solution would be nice.

I made a quick fix for this. You can find it here (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=4746.0). Let me know if you have any problems.
